Martin Luther and the reformers concluded that the Gospel and justification by faith was so enlightening and so radical that anyone or anything that opposed it was anti-Christ. Of course, the Catholic church opposed their newfound faith and called it heresy. After Martin Luther nailed his thesis to the door of the Catholic church there was an uprising and thousands of people died.
Catholicism is the mother of all religions and Judaism is the father. All religions have evolved from these two religions, both renounce the Gospel and justification by faith apart from the works of the law and are anti-Christ. You will not find an organized church that teaches salvation by grace through faith apart from the works of the law. There is always something that opposes the Gospel in their religion.
Example. In the Gospel, we are justified by faith alone, because we are justified by Christ alone. Jesus justifies the ungodly, Romans 4:5 In the Gospel, Jesus reconciles us and the world unto God, 2 Corinthians 5:18-19. This is a past historical event. We have ALREADY been reconciled unto God by Jesus Christ, no laws, rules or religion was needed. You will not find a religion that teaches that.
In the Gospel, we have ALREADY been raised up together and have been made to sit in heavenly places in Jesus Christ, Ephesians 2:6. Because the Gospel is spiritual many religious people are not able to comprehend this wonderful truth. Religion teaches that you must do something to be raised up to sit in heavenly places in Jesus Christ, in the Gospel, we that are saved have ceased from our own works (Religion) and have entered into his rest, Hebrews 4:10.
In the Gospel, we are complete in Christ, Colossians 2:10. Jesus has done it all and he did it perfectly. Jesus fulfills all of the demands of God's Holy Law in our name and on our behalf, just like we did it ourselves. Having fulfilled the law he abolished it, Ephesians 2:15, by nailing it to his cross, Colossians 2:14. In the Gospel Jesus atones for our sins and the sins of the whole world, 1 John 2:2. Many religious people don't believe that they believe that Jesus died on the cross to inspire them to be better holy Christians.
John reminds us that in the last days there will be many anti-Christ, 1 John 2:18. It is the work of anti-Christ to oppose the Gospel and justification by faith alone and make it of no effect. Be not deceived. Religion is man in the place of God. Satan said, "I will be like the most high". Instead of trusting in Christ, Satan wants you to try and be like Christ by becoming religious and then when you fail he will accuse you.
