[__ Prayer __] Roger

He's this man I went to school with. I knew of him from elementary school on. He came from a "poor, white trash" family (its The South, y'all!) and had it rough from a young age. I don't know about the family dynamics, but he was labeled a "bad kid" and treated accordingly, basically from the moment he entered the school system.

His name popped into my head the other day for some reason, and I did a Google search. He's in jail on federal charges.

I feel convicted of my own brattiness and also my own past cruelty towards people who have been labeled by society and punished for their very existence since day 1. My hope and prayer is that he'll get as much mercy as possible in the federal system and that Jesus will save him and change him, somehow.

Please pray for Roger. Thanks. :)

"poor, white trash" family:angry:nono Not a very nice description of someone's family.

Sorry. I should have written that better. See, down here, that's what families like that are called. I used to use that term, but now I just quote other people when they say it, because I went through a time (and still go thru it, now) when I was considered and openly called "poor, white trash." :-(

Its rough. I know poor people have it hard anywhere, but I think its probably worse here than in a lot of other places, which is kinda strange, because the poverty rate is high here. Ugh. The South. :-(
