Route pics

man, that was interesting. I didn't know that about it. I knew about the black out. tomorrow I will snap some of big blue. I have entered big blue but im not on that route. man you would love that place. but if I did enter there to take pics I cant be much.

That was so cool! Thanks!
what she didn't mention oddly is two stories. the fire of the older one, and that it ran only for shopping days and at nights. during movie nights if there was a power outage people would go to the plant to get it started again. the old theatre is there and you can easily walk that. I took these images from the road to the east of it and just across from it. the diesel she mentions is still there. I can see it when the lighting is right. I didn't know that as recent as 57 they were upgrading that. the new big blue went online in 1960 and has been the subject of debate as whether to keep it or decommission it.

I wonder why those two stories weren't included? They are both very compelling in view of the history.
im not sure who she was. she doesn't id her self. if it was ruth standbridge it would surpising. standbridge is the guru of the county history. she runs the historical society and has a librarian background.

man I wish I had the route of that has that edifice. there is more to it then just that. there is the old water tower which was there long after that plant shut down. old images I have posted , if I want to show a street that I know I need a reference to find. I use this building. its easy to find. then it had a cul-de-sac and the road didn't cross the tracks. oh the spur to the train station still is used if need be.

You really have researched your area, jasonc! I find it all fascinating.
routes. im also from here. remember I also do know the stories. I just check them to be sure. the fairlane harbor route has the power and sewage plants on it. I don't post pics of the sewer and water plants. unless for someone on fb. pointless.
