I use this whenever I need to find a few streets and old homes from the 50s topos. It has been here unchanged for the most part since the time it opened. once there were a ton of these types of business here. Even in the 80s I remember being able to get free samples, oranges etc. I may take a trip again on the turnpike feeder road and kings highway in St.Lucie county and post the old fruit packing places that have since gone. It was a lot when I was kid. They slowly died off after 85, and a few remained up to the early 2000s.

Poinsettia Groves has a long list of offerings for consumers to order/buy.

You really are fortunate to have access to all the tasty treats of fresh fruit!
you visited that webpage that fast? we had more, way more back then.

We used to travel to southern Illinois to pick up fresh fruit (peaches, cherries, etc) in season .... all the free samples was a delight!

Yes, sir. The building looked like a diner, but then the name of the place made me give a second think. Googled it. Had a look-see at what they had to offer. (And the list made me hungry for fresh fruit!)

wait till tomorrow, I will ask the locals what were the names of the citrus growers that sold directly to the public.
