That's a male. in Okeechobee there's some odd junkyard on 441 with a iron peacock symbol in front of it

My father started his firefighter career at the original city hall.he said it was to small and couldn't hold more then two trucks

Many city halls were built to accommodate more than two trucks. Once those trucks became bigger, some towns had to park firetrucks on the street because there was no longer room to accommodate the size of more than one truck.

Was there an anniversary celebration for the City Hall?

(Cake looks delicious!)
Historical marker,no I wasn't there.I downloaded that and this.I suggested big blue to be pUT into the registry.

The replacement of which I can find a photo of is a two story three bay firehouse.held six or 8 trucks.it's gone now.

Nowadays, there are more fire houses, with 2 or 3 trucks each, spread about towns/cities for quicker response times.

He moved only when I got my cell phone out.he was basking.ah the old city hall.a friends mother worked the switched board there.I heard it had a operator there for the city.

Switchboard operator.................ah! Shades of Lily Tomlin!
Lol.my mom worked those in her early days as a operator. In the late 60s to early 70's she called both fire and police.she worked from Sebastian to the keys like that.

She was a precursor to the 9-1-1 phone system of today. The things switchboard operators heard.... I can only imagine!

It takes a special person to be able to contend with people the way your Mom had to.
