Route pics

the sign was ripped off during a bad thunderstorm.it was never going to be restored as it sits in front the old 50s style diner. I have plans to photo one to the south. the higgs drive inn

Hopefully, they'll decide to restore it completely. Otherwise, it will rust away on 'em.

I can remember getting a bottle of soda for a dime from the gas station machines. Of course, that's when you could return the empty bottle & get a nickel back for the bottle. There was recycling even way back then...only we didn't call it recycling.
People collect those machines, signage here.we have ,besides me,water tower afficinados, those old photos got me into them

Sounds like collectors are the same everywhere! I know of people who collect the old soda machines, signage, old pinball games........ knew one person who went to Las Vegas to a pinball show; his wife was upset when he returned home with 2 games that cost a total of $5600 for the games, and another $45000 for the addition to the house in order to have room for the additional games. (The wife decided she was going for all the expansion she could in the matter, which for her meant a large master suite, a large room for her painting/art, another bath & a half)

Thanks the old antique shop is got to be posted.

I like real antique shops. I'm not a fan of so-called antique shops where the stuff is junk or newer. One of my favorite antique shops had some items with dust on them. It wasn't difficult to ascertain true ages of the items.

this was a Day's inn originally , I stayed here a few times for a vacation and oddly even wasn't pricey in the late 80's we stayed here when a t.s hit a few times. mom will know for sure. it had a restaurant then and now. its the one that Gloria Estafan bought and runs. very popular and always packed. the driftwood route has me here early in the morning.

I took about 100 pictures of that beach. sexton beach and the spires, we have talked about this area. particuly the spires. I was requested to go get some sunrise photos. so I did.Hillary stayed here when she had a small rally at sunrise theatre in fort pierce.View attachment 11164

The palm trees look great! More of them need to be added, though, for better ambience.

The Spires look out of place for the area. But I suppose there is a need for them.

That's quite a pier in the first photo!

I like beaches :thumbsup
how old do you think that is?. it goes back to the 50s. I have seen one there prior to that concrete one that was wooden.it was before all that construction near it. it was part of a hotel that is gone now, and was before that hotel. not sure who built that. in most of the year books that will always been in a photo and the driftwood.

After she had to cut back on performing, Gloria Estafan focused on real estate. Interesting in that it was originally a Day's Inn.

they should, they were allowed and approved by city hall and afterwards the height restriction was tightened. it was snuck in. I thought I posted that story. mid 70s era.
