it wasn't as good. that is one of two on that. I didn't take the pic of the more often used "guest"home. there were a few of these on this road. most were torn down. I will post a less then stellar image of the home that I know was built in 1926.I like the home that's for rent. It looks like someone has taken good care of it. I noticed the flowers at the road-side mail box. That's always a nice touch!
those are rented separately. no one would pay a lot for those today. I can rent those about the same as I pay for my home. but it has a higher property insurance, and electric bill. so that deters some from buying them. not to mention when something major happens. its out of code. I ran into(I should taken a pic of them) of the shells of burned out apartment(duplex) that were sold old they had the old nickel and penny style fuses. I had those in my trailer. they are illegal now. you can use them until you must replace wiring after some damage.Sounds like those 'guest' houses aren't quite what I would expect them to be The guest house on the grounds where I grew up was rather pleasant ... I recall one set of relatives who would come to visit. They would stay in the guest house. A few times, they had to be told that, while it was nice they came to visit, it was time for them to leave. I think the relatives had been there a bit over a month on those occasions.
I have a few that I can take a pic of Monday. one is of the same age I have shown. I wish I could post the waldo's secret garden and his home but I have told not to take pics without permission. I have mentioned him before.A property I bought in the 90s to rehab had the old fuse box, with limited outlets. I called it my 'Green Acres' house until the wiring was completely redone, along with a breaker pan addedel. Someone prior to me had decided it was a smart idea to drill holes in the hardwood floors to run extension cords to available outlets in the basement. It was a sad hoot to see several extension cords running from the second floor to the basement. It's amazing the house didn't catch fire at some point!
That house is now over a 100 years old.
I would specifically focus on the old dairy, the old homes. the driftwood home that is mostly driftwood( hundred years old).it has taken a lot of hurricanes over the years. its withstood the test of time. its not a registered historical site. which it ought to be. sexton's influence is everywhere.Yes, I remember about Waldo's Secret Garden .... that web site has some rather nice pictures on it.
one of a few that I know about. some might be even pictured. I know the first image of that home I posted today was worked on recently and restored. I remember its former state. It's always amazing to see how a property is able to withstand even the worst of weather (hurricanes) for a century!
I wonder how many of these old Spanish/stucco homes were here years ago that I never paid attentioned to. google earth shows a lot on the same street as that home you liked. that has no homes for five blocks south of that house. It's good to rehab houses in need. Keeps them alive & thriving in their original neighborhoods.

no. google earth shows homes there up to 1999. the appear to be the same style. flat roofs were common on those old stucco homes that are Spanish style. It could be that the area south of the house wasn't developed until after the Depression or after WW2.
