I agree completely. And this is one of the toughest nuts to crack for many. When one opens one's mind to the possibility that Paul, when he uses the words "law" and "works", is almost always talking about the Torah and not the more general category of "good works", his writings gain a coherence and a unity that they otherwise lack.Catholic Crusader said:The only way to harmonize these two scriptures is to understand that when Paul says "Law", he means "Torah".
A famous example is Ephesians 2:8-10. This text is almost universally viewed as denying justification by "good works". It is doing nothing of the kind! It is denying justification by doing the works of the Torah. If you read the rest of the chapter, this becomes crystal clear.
