School

Alright, I might hate school for the most part (except Hogwarts, man, why does it have to be made up? :lol) but I think that both of these videos just go way too far in my mind. Although I agree with what the mother said about Shakespeare on the second video, and I think she also made a comment about how the different presidents were useless information. I can't remember for sure though since it's been quite awhile since I've seen it myself.

Back in the dark ages when I was in school there were students smoking dope and snorting cocaine in the bathrooms...this would have been the late 1970's, early 1980's. The more things change, the more things stay the same.

When discipline is no longer allowed in schools and especially in the home then you get children gone wild with pent-up emotions that in time becomes as disastrous action when it comes to a head. So ya, much has changed as emotions sets off these kids to bring guns into the school or even like the last school shooting he was 19 and unleashed that of what he had pent-up in him by how he was treated in school. The bullying needs to stop as even I was bullied in school and got into a few fights and sent to the Principles office for my actions.
 
Agreed, I was a pretty big bully target as well. However, once I got older I learned that there is no such thing as a bully. The only time they become that is if you let them bother you. :)

Everyone has a breaking point when enough is enough and it's all in how they handled the enough part. You either walk away or you take revenge as I did in fighting back when I was in school, but now that I am an adult I have learned to ignore what others think of me.

It's just sad how many kids have committed suicide from being bullied as many like to prey on those who are different, but neglect how mean they are within their intentions.
 
The Florida deputy assigned to protect the students never went into the building to help them. Security cameras photographed him just standing outside the building. The Sheriff disciplined his deputy, who then resigned.

I was bullied too...and was raped and physically assaulted in a PRIVATE school. Nothing's changed dear. NOTHING. Only difference is kids have access to better weapons than just knives.
 
i graduated hs early because of bullying. i was immature, precocious, etc., but...i couldn't take it, no way. so i did an extra class, thru the mail, and they let me graduate at 16. thing is....running from bullies in hs ends in failure. the "cool kids" go on to good jobs, the "losers" go on to jail and low wage jobs, and me...

well, God is good. There is such a thing as the "school to prison pipeline." In my life, I see the "school to psych ward pipeline," which...in all likelihood...no one wants to talk about, least of all the "mental health professionals." I could have ended up in prison; God made a soft landing for me in the role of "mental patient, from a 'good family' ," so...yeah. here I am.

but, i look back over it, and...man oh man. the culture is disintegrating, isn't it? when families break up all the time, schools just warehouse kids unitl they graduate, people are running out of hope for any kind of decent life...

ugh. my hs experience wasn't as bad as it could have been. i just think about these kids who kill themselves in hs, the ones who do these shootings, and how...the answer is MORE cops, MORE guns, MORE punishment, MORE "mental health" stuff, on and on it goes, and I mean...

what's the point? If I somehow ended up with a kid, I'd try to homeschool.

I agree with that, but unfortunately with kids coming from dysfunctional families where there are no family values to instill in them many stow themselves away in their room and play such games as violent video games can play on the psychic mind causing thoughts to arise within them from the torments of life they are dealing with as many act out and then you have these school shootings by how the other students treated them. These kids are like a ticking time bombs waiting to explode.

I personally believe that it should be the school's responsibility to alert parents if something like that is happening to their child.

Let me tell you about one of the best things my mother ever did for me.

I used to come running home when the bigger kids got after me. I would begin screaming for Grandma to "Open the door!" from a block away.... with three or four of them right on my heels. And Grandma always did.

One day, unbeknownst to me, my mother was home from work. The same thing happened......... But, my mother calmly walked out and locked the door. I hit it and actually bounced off it.

From that day forward, I began to learn to fight my own battles.
