Medical Foreknowledge In The Bible

Long before groundbreaking discoveries were made in the field of medicine, the Bible had these answers contained in it’s pages. Centuries before man’s medical breakthroughs, the inspired word of the living God contained medical foreknowledge.

The Bible makes it clear that our life is in our blood. Had doctors read and meditated on the scriptures, perhaps blood-letting would not have been a common practice.

Lev 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

Lev 17:14 For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.

The Bible knew long before doctors that laughter is good for our health and can promote healing while depression can cause physical problems.

Pro 17:22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

The Bible has strict laws in the Old Testament pertaining to food and washing. There are strict hygiene laws found throughout Leviticus. God even declared that running water should be used for washing.

God commanded the children of Israel not to eat pork.

Lev 11:7,8 And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you. Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.

Deu 14:8 And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase.

Today we know that pork that is undercooked can cause trichinosis. We also know today that consuming animal fat is bad for our circulatory (blood) system.

Lev 3:17 It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood.

God commanded that lepers be quarantined. This was for the protection of those not infected.

Lev 13:31 And if the priest look on the plague of the scall, and, behold, it be not in sight deeper than the skin, and that there is no black hair in it; then the priest shall shut up him that hath the plague of the scall seven days:

These scriptures give further proof that the Bible is of divine origin.

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. Psa 14:1

Yes, this is evidence for the Bible! According to the biblical model, ancient civilizations would be very advanced. cain built cities, tubal-cain worked with brass and copper making weapons and tools. Ancient man was skilled in music, writting, etc

His brother's name was Jubal; he was the father of all who play the harp and flute. Zillah also had a son, Tubal-Cain, who forged all kinds of tools out of bronze and iron. Tubal-Cain's sister was Naamah.

I thought man was evolving into a smarter, more sophisticated being. But it looks as if man has really DEVOLVED. The bible explains this. SIN brought death into the world and brought a curse upon the creation. Things will continue to devolve until the second advent of Christ

Technological level and sophistication of society are not genetic. Furthermore, evolution doesn't have any direction but "not dead." Humans have just found that being smart = not dead. No earlier civilizations had powered flight or full indoor plumbing for the masses. Up to the 19th century and down to 5000 years before cavalry was the most advanced form of military power in the world. The Mongols conquered Russia, in a Land war, IN ASIA with it.
Ancient civilizations made many advances that were lost in wars and so on. Back before largescale printing much of our technological knowledge was held in central libraries, that could be burned and set a region back by centuries. These days it's just harder to see the technology that they had in ancient times and not compare it to what we have now and think that made living at the time similar to living now. It's just a lack of historical perspective, not a case of human beings thinking we've devovled. Indeed that word has no real meaning, as to devolve would mean that we became less and less fit for our environment.

According to the Bible, the Earth is immovable and fixed. We know that the Earth spins as it goes around the sun which goes about the galaxy as space expands. So we know this is completely wrong. Yet, to the ancients, it seemed common sense that the Earth was fixed because we feel no motion from the Earth moving.

Spinning is moving. But that is beside the point. The Earth is moving around the Sun. The Sun is moving around the galaxy. So there is nothing fixed nor immovable about the Earth.

Adjusting the Earth's orbit is by no means impossible, indeed it happens constantly as rocks pelt the earth, at least those which make it to the ground do, as their momentum is given to the earth. Furthermore, the fact that the Earth is orbiting the sun means that it is constantly accelerating downward toward the sun while at the same time has a velocity perpendicular to that acceleration which keeps it in a stable ellipse. Constant acceleration, constant movement, fixed? HA. Immovable? Double HA.

There is this part where he describes creatures of some sort that one can liken to helicopters and tanks (like... locusts swarms with womans hair whipping around, the tail of a scorpion etc). Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

That's by far the most interesting part of the whole book in my opinion.

Berean....do you seriously think this is true? The Egyptians knew the spherical size of the earth around 4000 years ago. Pythagoras also figured out the diameter of the Earth.

As I've already stated, Columbus knew the Earth was round, it's a common misconception that people thought you would sail off the edge of the world.


Berean, a circle is not a sphere, it is a disc. The Bible supports a round disc-like earth.
