Senior Pastor, Dr. John Hagee - women who call God’s name during sex should be jailed

No idea if someone has already started a thread similar to the OP.

However the title, as I read it online, made me burst into laughter.

Dr. John Hagee, the founder and senior pastor of the Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas, not only agrees with what the Bible says, but also takes the faith to a higher level. One of the things that the Bible has consistently denounced is the taking of the Lord’s name in vain.

Speaking exclusively with Newslo, Hagee stated that ;in this world of crimes and deaths that surround us, a simple blasphemy does not get that much attention when it should.”

“Saying the Lord’s name in vain might seem petite and insignificant compared to some of the things that are going on in the world right now, even in churches all across America. But, that’s precisely the problem. If the shepherds of a faith start doing wrong, what is the flock supposed to do? Follow in their footsteps? I don’t think so. The flockneeds to get its bearings and start thinking for itself. But, nowadays you have people committing sin everywhere you look, including Houses of God, which are the holiest of places.”

Asked how the situation could be corrected, Hagee replied: “Well, we’d have to start with ourselves, as with everything in life. If you’re asking about my personal opinion, there is no greater sin in terms of wrongly using God’s name than women who use it during sex. That is one of the filthiest, most derogatory and sinful uses of the Lord’s name I can think of. If it were up to me, I would put every single woman or girl who does that in jail. That would be a fine example of God’s wrath aimed at what is, in my opinion, a terrible misuse of our Maker’s good name”.

uhm its a sin, but no it doesn't need to be a crime. sorry we cant force repentance. we cant even get people to stop using drugs, killing and stealing.

Meh, then I should be jailed for doing the same during during a scary carnival ride. It was like an involuntary thing, I literally had never done that before and would never have expected it to come out of my mouth unbidden.
Making it a crime....seems to be mixing church and state to me, tbh.

And what about men using it during sex?

Thing is, if it's within the boundaries of Gods laws, sex is no different than anything that is OK to do so, why pick on that? Same thing as saying using Gods name in vain while we eat dinner or drive to work, should be a criminal offense.

Does this man even think before he speaks?

Then there is the fact that technically there are likely very few that have ever used God's name in vain, during sex or otherwise. "God" is not his name.

Not that we should use even that but "God" after all, is just a title. However he is the only God so the G word is still serious business, at least, even knowing that, I'm not going to use it. I can't say for certain, when judgment rolls around, that the G word would even count as using his name in vain.

even knowing that, I'm not going to use it.

I should say I'm going to "try" not to use it.

What "Dr" Hagee doesn't seem to understand is that taking Gods name in vain like all sin is linear. No matter if you do it when hurt or that of passion. I don't agree with it either but, when pleasing the flesh; sin is prone to come out. This is why Paul says it is easier to be single.

I am sure Hagee himself should be jailed for many blasphemy we don't see.

Doing anything that is against God while proclaiming God's name is taking his name in vain. Does he think his transgressions while proclaiming God are worse than others vain takings of God's name?

Furthermore, can a husband and wife thank and praise God midsex for what he has given them to enjoy?

so says the man who cheated on his wife
the irony I see that is he is behind Christians united for isreal. in isreal what he preaches could be called blashpheme. if isreal to ban Christian statements about judiasm I wonder what Hagee would say

What does taking the Lords name in vain mean.?

Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Rom 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
Rom 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
Rom 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
Could it be those claiming to be His kids that are not truly adopted?

John Hagee was the leader of the San Antonio mega-church Trinity Church in the 1970s and is the father of two children with his first wife, Martha Downing. In 1975, Hagee was involved in a personal scandal in which he admitted in a letter to his congregation that he had been guilty of "immorality."[12] He subsequently divorced his wife of 15 years and, one year later on April 12, 1976, married 24-year old Diana Castro, his current wife.[13] Castro was a member of the Trinity Church congregation at the time of Hagee's confession. As a result of the fallout from his divorce, Hagee resigned from his pastoral position at Trinity. Hagee and Castro have three children together.

How does he know what Christian woman are doing in their bedrooms?
I know he claims to have a far reaching, international ministry, but come on....

You brought up his failed marriage. That's why I have a hard time getting a job. Someone wants to bring up my 17 year old Felony and rub my face in it. Thank you Lord you on my side, but it's still gets very old.

Amazing JoJoe.

Hagee would never say what you all claim he said, and I can promise you He never said anything like it, He Would never make a comment about using the Lord's name in vain and putting women in prison. He's not like that.

I guess if we get a chance to judge others, and skip the fact we also will be judged the same (Jesus said) then posting made up stuff and acting as if it's real is good enough for some folks around here. Where are the standards?
