She headshaved for charity. (Would you, too?)

Would you be prepared to shave your head for a favorite charity?

A while back my wife sponsored a coworker to do a headshave for charity.

So is there a charity that you might consider doing this for?

(See poll, also.)

i shave my head once a month. just did that today!

so yes i would if i was asked.

PS: My wife's coworker that did it, was female.

my oldest daughter used to shave her head.

she hasnt done that in a while.

before i started shaving my head rather then pay a barber and have a flat top. she had shorter hair then me.

What does shaving ones head do for any charity? One does not need to shave their head to give hair to those who make wigs.

We have some strange ideas about what makes us feel like we are doing SOMETHING.

Stepping out and mowing a lawn or shoveling snow and giving what was earned to charity or just do it for some folks who cant for free!

Just cant believe there isn't something benifical to charity then shaving ones head.

cancer patients need hair when they have surgery or burn patients who have no hair.

my wife donated her hair a while ago

So do you think it suits her, to have it like this? (subjective question, I guess). In any case, the sponsored headshave thing has become quite popular, I think.

BTW: I think it's possible that the multipiercing ears thing for ladies became popular partly because many of them like to go razor short, with the result that the ears can often look quite bare, if they don't multipierce.

(But anyway...)

lets stick to the op.

but if you wish my opinion on her pm me on that.

i will not talk about that one openly.i have my reasons.

No need to say anything more than you already said about your daughter here.

I guess I made the point that the charity headshave thing is more popular these days because more ladies like to go razor short anyway.

(And as a general observation, often razor short means also wanting extra earrings, etc.)

Well, I guess to some extent it ties in with the fashion thing, maybe.

Recently you maybe talked a bit about a granddaughter that likes fashion, tattoos, etc., but — and not necessarily about her — sometimes the motivation for fashion combined with sympathy for a particular charity can motivate ppl to do it.

No, I'm too cute with hair! :lol

Alabaster:

Well, yes, I sure this is true. :)

And I don't think the multipiercing thing, mentioned above, is necessarily related to having razor short hair and avoiding the bare ears look, right? Just that sometimes they coincide, I guess.

PS: Kind of like this, with the extra rings put in.

ok, farouk.

what is the purpose of this thread?

to promote charity or to promote multiple ear piecing or discuss the later?

i dont care either way just curious.

if the later then perhaps a seperate thread.

Good to keep to the main theme, yes.

Part of my point a few minutes ago was that one reason that charity headshaves have become more popular is that many ppl like to go really short anyway (this sometimes leads to multipiercings, too).

ok, the wierd things that society does and indivuals of this millenial generation and gen y.

it seems to start with annie lennox and also sinead o'connor.

I would gladly shave Jason's head for charity or just for fun .

I replied like you suggested in pm, but I got a message saying your Inbox is full.

Yes, Annie Lennox has a style of her own, but it's not as short as Sinead's. Annie's style is almost 'tame', compared with Sinead's.
