Should Christians compete?

Should Christians compete at all? I'm nit talking about unhealthy debates: Not a fan of cat race. I'm really talking about competitions, like Group A vs Group B doing something and each trying to produce the best result. E.g in the choir, motivational teachings, etc. You know competition brings out the best result. HE deserves our best.

What is the result? Does the competition bring the groups closer together? Does is make them agape each other more?

no,
competing causes little ones, vulnerable ones, weak ones, devastated ones, hurt ones,
more pain.
the very ones Yeshua is seeking to heal.

Doesn't Scripture say somewhere to 'compete' in doing good ?! -- or some such 'strive' to compete in Righteousness stretching towards the mark of full and perfect obedience to ABBA as His children ? This might be from several chapters together like in Ephesians and Philippians and Psalms encouraging turning full strength Godward and "running the race" faithfully in God's Purpose, striving to eliminate the corruptions of the flesh ("... purifies himself...")(forgot the context) .... and walk in the spirit....

Just some general thoughts to pursue together in Christ Jesus..... the kind of competition might be found in Scripture...

ok, while I understand the thought here. but well if one wants to be the boss or move up. its competitive. that is the way it is. if I want to make more then I must work and learn and sell myself so that they will move me up. im not suggesting back stab or brown nose but simply to learn and be a good employee and sadly politics will come into play.

Competition has been given a bad name by the liberal crowd..... part of lets all be the same trash...
not all of us are the same. good lord I could never be into planting a garden and good landscaper. my wife could and has done that with my yard. plants and me. yeah we have an agreement. touch me and it dies.lol

I love to play golf occasionally and it's good when everyone does well. Competition brings out the best in everyone I think and it's great when the whole group encourages each other to do well.

Even in music one practices and practices and you end up first chair instead of third or fourth.
All my girls play instruments two can read music. The middle daughter couldn't ever get the hang of it. So she trained her ear to hear. She played clarinet by ear and ended up first chair, too. Hard work is good for the soul.
