I got a note on my door today saying not to use the water in about 1 week, on a specific day in early september. I can't help feeling like its a trap, like someone wants me evicted or...something...

did I mention that my family own it? not a bragging thing...its a safety and security thing for me, and I think its been a really big deal for them, too, since everything cost$ more since they bought it, especially real estate.

so...yeah. that's my post. The HOA has an online app where one can log in (owners...or me, in this case, lol) and check out maintenance requests, shared documents, any monies owed, etc. We owe the coming september hoa fee, but other than that...nothing looks out of the ordinary.

what do y'all think?

Was it a municipal water system ?
 
Easiest thing to do is ring or send a simple email and ask whoever is in charge of your water supply and ask if its ligit or the manager of the complex if you in a set of apartments that is under some sort of managment.

Whoever is in charge of supplying you with your water supply would know.

Re read the note.
If it is from your landlord or the water company it will have there heading and contact details on it, then check there web site for information about maintence for your location.
If there is no company heading or any web site details it is a poor taste practical joke, report it to the police as evidence of harassment.

If the supply is being cut off for maintenance, prepare for it.
Save several milk bottles or thevery large soda bottles and fill them with water, the night before it happens fill your bath with water or a bucket with water so you can flush your toilet.

Had you joined a church there wuld be people in your town you could have asked about this who as thet would be affected would know about it.

Ok ✅ so water is included in the hoa fee if that means anything. Usually when repairs need to happen they go by building…say building 5 might get a notice or building 11, or if it’s unexpected sometimes emails from the hoa go out..things to the effect of sorry building x doesn’t have water right now this is what happened blah blah blah…

So I dunno 🤷‍♂️

I looked up rental law for my state and I think 🤔 I’m good to go. My family owns it and all the fees are paid on time. If they wanted me out they’d have to go through my family unless I was doing something very very wrong 😑 in which case there would still be written notice at least 2 weeks in advance…

Although if it’s extreme the hoa can impose big fines probably to encourage people to sell or move tenants out.

But yeah…knowledge is power. 😎

Side note…

There is 1 neighbor who would wave and talk to me. Nothing in-depth but friendly. I waved at him yesterday and he glared. I mean…whaaa?

But I cannot base my life on all that. Just making me nervous 😬…

That is a hard habit to stop .the what ifs. It's best beaten when you occupy the time at work or something.cant ponder with an idle mind.overthinking won't solve it but it will make it worse and bigger in your mind .

With work or a focused mind on other problems you will function better.

Just submit yourself to God and trust Him to care for you as He's promised to do. If people have it out for you - or not - what matters most is that you are in fellowship with God and that He's making you, day by day, more like Jesus.

There are much more important, much more useful, things to dwell on than something like this. Check it out if it seems necessary to do and then leave it all in God's hands. He sees and loves you and He's got your back. So, don't sweat the small stuff. Let go and let God.
