should we have billionaires?

Corporations call on individual accountability while corporate law is written so that individuals high enough up the corporate ladder avoid that same accountability. Americans can be killed through corporate cost-cutting, but no one faces charges and no one goes to jail. Corporate laws protect the corporate elite from the people. How else would a government allow itself to become the guardian of corporate power instead of the guardian of public interests if not for corruption?
Long before that the state does that.

Be a judge ,have a son,or child or yourself get caught drunk driving .a simple ride home is all you, will get.

Anyone else ,the full weight of the law

Yes corporate/government becoming more and more one in the same with the same immunity from accountability.

It's been that way for ages, since dui, laws were passed.I suggest lookimg up,the worst mass killing of school, kids.it was an,act of revenge by the property owner .them also kill dozer.neither had corporations behind it.

Mass killing in 1927.

I,think he is talking, about campaign donations.

Also speaking fees. Give someone $10,000 for a 10 minute speech, but only if they play ball. Also giving lobbyist or other lucrative jobs to them when they retire. Its a conflict of interest for regulators to take any cash at all from the people they regulate.

you do realize that any committee local or state or national is a political appointment. you can be removed at will for any reason. during elections this is common. seen it with the public utility regulators, seen it locally with planning and zoning, finance commissions and utility commissions.

The system should be reformed to prevent regulatory capture.

Why do you think meds are so expensive in the USA? That's not the free market at work. Its regulatory capture.

solution, a majority of regulations aren't needed. one can simply defang uneeded regulations.

1. what type of fence I build and where I build it on my property need not be regulated. I get the right of way thing. but they are anal on that.
2. plenty of types of painting are forced now, silly.nor can one in city limits without permit paint any mural on property.
3. I can and I should be able to choose the type of power provider. i cant in many states.
4. see the gig ecomony regulation in California and how some states hinder uber.

im sure I can find more. there are many licenses one doesn't need that if untrained wont kill anyone. cosmotology is one. in one state it was a crime to cut a homeless man's hair without a license! we did things like that overseas. I had a plt sgt who went to school for it and was never a licensed barber doing that. and also others who simply bought a razor and cut hair. they cleaned their tools, if it was a crappy cut word got out and they didn't cut hair. it saved me 10 dollars often.

We are on the same page about the License Raj Jason.

Regulators take money from the hair trimming lobbyists, then grant them a monopoly to trim hair in return. Conflict of interest. The system should be reformed.

I have said that by stating less govt is better ,govt feeds itself and takes care if those that favor the elite .few things it does aren't political.

I think most people know and sense there is something not quite right and it is concerning. Humans are intelligent beings.

Have you ever been incorporated? Just curious because you speak as if you haven't.

The same can be asked in reverse....Have you ever been victimized by corporate abuse because you speak as if you never have.

It does seem to be that when a corporation or big company gets busted for something no individual gets prosecuted, it's the company or corporation that goes to court and usually just receives a big fine that's like a slap on the wrist.

No, I have not but then I haven't been victimized by a neighbor or stranger on the street either.

That depends on the type of corporation and what the charges are. A corporation is legally treated like a person, so-to-speak. The owners of said corporations are not necessarily those that run the corporation therefore they are not always held accountable for what a corporation does.

Ever buy or sell stocks or make investments in a stock portfolio? If so, you are part owner of corporations. Do you make day to day decisions about how the corporation is operated? Absolutely not. Do you feel that you should be held directly responsible for wrong-doing on the part of the corporation? Why should you since you don't operate the business or have any say in its operation?

Unfortunately, as a part owner you do take some responsibility for wrong-doing in the form of lost corporate value and therefore lower or even negative returns on your investment but the corporation gets nailed resulting in huge losses or even bankruptcy when the investors pull their money out.

It is a big crooked how much banks make just on overdraft fees, that's billions from people who obviously don't have money, that's why it's a overdraft fee.

An overdraft fee is applied when someone overdrafts their account. It is illegal (thievery) to write checks without having the funds to back them up. The bank now has to return the bad check to the depositor and deny payment. The depositor now has to return the check to the account holder to collect the money for the property the account holder stole with the bad check.

Who uses cheques these days?

Once I left an account open and it went into debt through monthly fees I kept getting statements, aside from that being a joke, I went to shut it down, I rung and asked the exact amount I needed to pay and it was like 30, so I transfered the exact amount so it was 0 balance, the next day I went to shut it down and suddenly that next dsy I had a random 2 cent interest on the account that put me 2 cents in debt and I got like a 20 unarrranged overdraft fee so nowmim back 20 in debt. So that day I literally went to the bank and said shut this account down. What a joke that was. I ended up like paying 50.

i got fee to the last seconds. Lol.
