Should Women Preach ?

what queen? theres no queens nor royalty in America. by that argument a woman could be head of the household. didn't paul compare the head of the church to marriage? yup
Our culture today puts down men and lets pretty women off easy in most every aspect of life....

yes, if my wife and had kids and she commited adultery and we divorced. guess what I get to pay her to have the kids. I have seen that. I don't agree with that.

The first person to see the risen Lord was a woman' the first person to spread the gospel after His rise was a woman. So if that was a problem for
god He would have made sure it was a man. But the most important event in history was see and spread by a woman first. So that is enough for me.

I all ready know what the Bible says about it guy's. I thought Jethro had something else. So let me get this straight if a woman preaches you guy's would get up and walk out ?

I don't attend church. But if I did, I wouldn't attend one that had a woman pastor.
.

Is there a difference of spreading the gospel preaching the gospel.... compared to being a pastor? deacon bishop etc?
For me i say yes....

I say yes also. :yes
.

I think sometimes people get all up in arms today about discrimination against women to the point that they think any rule which prohibits the woman from doing something is bad. Men and women are different and the women's rights movement can go too far I think ( although there have been and are many legitimate complaints about prejudice/ patriarchal injustice ) and try to make us the same. I don't know exactly what the implications of Paul's words are and at face value they seem discriminating and unfair ( hey Adam also sinned and ate the fruit etc ) but they don't seem to have any cultural significance considering he's referring to Eden.

1Ti 2:12-15 KJV But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. (13) For Adam was first formed, then Eve. (14) And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. (15) Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

Me neither. It's unfitting that a man should be under the authority of a woman.

It doesn't have as much to do with the woman as it does with man and his failure to live up to his place in God's hierarchy of leadership and protection.

I figure if a church can't understand Paul's simple reason why women are not to be the leaders how can I expect the rest of their doctrine to be straight? But the issue of authority itself is the main reason I would not attend. It's simply out of order. How effective can a body truly be when it's out of order?

Realy? :rollingpin

Joking aside,
This Scripture seems to fit in.
Gen 2:18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

Yup for sure.... Adam failed Eve, it is a long history.... Men and women are different we think differently not that one is better then the other...Praise the Lord we are different. :sohappy

I've seen awesome female pastors and preachers, my church (the Lutheran protestant church in Germany has been ordaining women as pastors for some decades now). So if the quality of their work and growth of their church or their ministry is a criterion for whether they were called into their service by God or acting against His will I'd say by evidence women receive God's calling to be preachers/ teachers/ deacons/ elders or whatever office you can have in a church.

If man fails to do the job, then God will raise up women.
He'll even make the rocks cry out, or a donkey, whatever it takes.

It fits in very nicely.

From the beginning, God's intention was that woman serve a supportive function to man.

Good Grief, what sane man doesn't thank God for the women in his life and what they do?

Wasn't the part in the bible that refers to women preaching written to a specific church for a specific reason.

So the general consensus here is that women are incapable of preaching? Again, as I've stated.. these letters were written to a specific church, and not for just everyone.

Unless I'm missing something. So if a woman really wanted to be a pastor, and really studied the word.. is it just "tough luck" for her?

No.

They are free to herald the gospel message. Preaching is along the lines of evangelism. This isn't about preaching, nor is it about them not being capable of preaching.

Order of creation only applies to one church? How does that work?

Yes.

Just because we feel like doing something doesn't mean it's right.

And the points you are missing are, this is about pastoral teaching authority, not preaching (the church has the two confused), and it's about being allowed to have that teaching position, not whether or not they can are capable of teaching. Paul tells the older women to teach the younger women.
