I figured that this counted as a current event. This is the thread where we talk about the weather. It's been snowy and below freezing where I live. I don't know about you guys though.

Northern Georiga, USA here - this has been one cold winter. 17F last night, not far from the record. We are expected to be at 63F by Sunday and that will feel very good.

Most homes in GA are heated by "Heat Pumps" and at such low temps the pumps can't really produce heat, so the electric heating elements take over - and electric bills will be awful this next cycle. Added to that, our heat ($250,000 home with two new systems to serve 1800 square feet) could not keep up - it was 68F in here this morning and the heat was doing all it could. This is the first time I've not had gas heat. I don't own the place and when I buy, the furnace will be gas. :0

Yeah, luckily here in the Buckeye state we are supposed to warm up into the fifties next week which considering how cold it's been here lately, I'll take it.

The only thing that I'll tell you is that I am in the urban area. I'm not going to tell you my city though. Sorry, no offense or anything but I need to protect myself.

Well, all I have to say is that even though snow is pretty, I'm really getting sick and tired of it. Maybe I can order up a bit of sunshine and warmth for a change.

I just woke up and it sounds like it's pouring rain out there. Maybe as soon as all the snow vanishes I will stop getting all these sinus issues. I'm sorry, I really don't mean to complain, but it's rather annoying waking up every day with a sinus pressured headache. Other than my birthday coming up pretty soon, spring couldn't come here fast enough.

Very dry air can be hard on your nose. Super cold weather tends to lead to 30% or so relative humidity in homes. The recommended range is 40% to 60%.

i have family in parts of ohio. i like the part near Kentucky, personally...the hills and such. good times.

the weather here is...moody, lol. we had -snow-. not unheard of, but...not common, either. now, its suprisingly, remarkably...mild, maybe warmer end of mild. the ice has melted, the birds are chirping, all is well in the world.

:)

I'm just about ready for bed and sounds like we're getting a thunderstorm. That will be nice and peaceful to fall asleep to. Goodnight everybody! :sleep
