Bible Study So you want to keep the Sabbath

What interpretation?I’m asking you, the “expert” on the Sabbath to provide scripture that teaches us how to observe the Sabbath under the New Covenant. You just keep referring to the Old Testament law, that requires death to the violators.
JLB

Well that is not true at all my friend :). I have not claimed to be an expert. I am no one only a messenger sharing God's Word. I have indeed provided scriptures to you do not belive them.

You cannot just keep saying I have not provided scripture when the post above you shows that what Jesus indeed taught in the NEW Testament about God's 4th Commandment without addressing why you disagree and answer the scripture that have been provided to you. If you disagree please answer post # 59 linked above and state your reasons. You cannot separate the OLD Testament Scriptures from the NEW Testament because together these are the Word of God and if you deny it you deny God's Word.

Please feel free to show us from the Scriptures........

1. That God's 4th commandments 7th day Sabbath has been abolished?

2. That Jesus is a Sabbath?

3. The Sabbath (seventh day) was ever changed from the seventh to the first day of the week?

4. Where we are told to keep the first day of the week holy?

5. Where the first day of the week (Sunday) is ever called a holy day?

6. That says that Jesus ever kept the first day (Sunday)?

7. That tells us to keep the first day in honour of the resurrection of Christ?

8. Where the first day is ever given any sacred name?

9. That affirms that any of the apostles ever kept the first day as the Sabbath?

10. From any apostolic writings that authorizes Sunday observance as the Sabbath of God?

11. Where we are told not to work on the first day of the week?

12. That says the seventh day is no longer God's Sabbath day?

13. That says the seventh day Sabbath is ABOLISHED?

14. Where the apostles ever taught any convert to keep the first day of the week as a Sabbath?

15. Where the first day was ever appointed to be kept as the Lord's Day?

16. Where the first day of the week is ever called the Lord's Day?

17. That says that the first day of the week was ever sanctified and hallowed as a day of rest?

18. That says that the Father or the Son (Jesus) rested on the first day of the week?

19. That says that Jesus, Paul or any other of the apostles taught anyone to observe the first day of the week as the Sabbath?

20. That calls the seventh day the “Jewish Sabbath” or one text that calls Sunday the “Christian Sabbath”?

21. Telling man to keep the first day of the week holy or to worship or rest on the first day of the week?

22. Authorizing anyone to set aside God's Sabbath and observe any other day?

23. Showing any of the apostles keeping the first day of the week as the Sabbath?

24. Authorizing someone to set aside the fourth Commandment and observe any other day of the week?

25. Where any apostle taught us to keep the first day of the week as the Sabbath?

26. Declaring that the seventh day is no longer the Eternal Sabbath day?

27. Where Sunday is now appointed to be kept as the New Testament Sabbath or holy day?

If you cannot answer any of the above, who should we obey God or man? Something to seriously pray about my friend.

...........................

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

If we brake any of God's commandments it is showing we do not LOVE God or our fellow man...

Thie is why Jesus says....... If you LOVE me keep my COMMANDMENTS (John 14:15;15:10)

In times of ignorance God winks at but now calls all men every where to REPENT for the KINGDOM of HEAVEN is at HAND (Acts 17:30-31)

How long have you been keeping Sabbath????
Do you belong to a 7th day church or synagogue????
Is your back ground Jewish?????

You cannot just keep saying I have not provided scripture

Please provide scripture from the New Testament that directs us and teaches us how the Church is to observe the Sabbath under the New Covenant.

One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike.Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. 6 He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks.
Romans 14:5-6

I have provided the scriptures from the NT that teach us about the Sabbath which allows each person to esteem one day of the week above another or not, because the Sabbath under the Old Covenant was just a shadow of Christ.

Christ is the substance. Not the Sabbath.

Christ is the substance.
The Sabbath is the shadow.

So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.
Colossians 2:16-17

If you don’t agree then please post a NT scripture that directs us how the Church is to observe the Sabbath under the New Covenant.

If it is so important to our salvation then it should be no problem to find how the Church observed the Sabbath from the NT scriptures.

Not sure why you quote this as it has nothing to do with God's 4th commandment and does not even mention it. The Whole Chapter is talking about judging others in relation to food connected to days and idolatry. God's 4th Commandment Sabbath is not even mentioned. More detailed scriptures look here. If you believe this post has not addressed your interpreation of Romans 14 please state why you disagree and suport your disagreement with scriipture as I have share with you.

Answered and addressed in the COL 2 scriptures and posts that disagree with your interpretation linked. If you believe this post has not addressed your interpretation of the scriptures please state why you disagree and suport your disagreement with scriipture as I have shared with you.

Finally if you interpretation is correct you should not have any problems addressing the posts # 53 and the questions in post # 61 that you seem to have ignored? Look forwar to your reply :)

There is no point repeating the same thing untill you address that posts that disagree with you interpretation of the scriptures. If you cannot address the posts sent to you then we may have to agree to disagree my friend otherwise we are just going around in circles

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

May God bless you as you seek him through His Word.

There is nothing in your post number 59 about how the Church is to observe the Sabbath today, under the New Covenant.

Neither scripture nor example.

There is not one single verse in the New Testament that teaches the Church how we are to observe the Sabbath under the New Covenant.

If there was, you would keep referring to the Old Testament.

Please provide a scripture from the NT that teaches us how to observe the Sabbath today.

It is ok JBL you do not need to address my posts or scripture sent to you if you do not wish to. I did not think you would anyway. Maybe you can pray about them at home in your own time if you do not know how to answer them.

You have cut and pasted the same ole
LDS OT scriptures that do not address my simple question.

Before I ask it again, I will restate my position.

I believe we as Christians need to keep the 10 commandments.

I do not believe we as Christians are to keep the Sabbath according to the law of Moses, whereby those who pick up sticks on Saturday are put to death.

Please provide NT scriptures that teach us as Christians how to observe the Sabbath under the New Covenant.

Well that is not true whatsoever and only disregards all of the OLD and NEW testament scriptures which does indeed disagree with your interpretaion of them. If you do not KNOW what SIN is how will you KNOW who the Saviour is? Only those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's Word are his people. Breaking any of God's 10 Commandments is indeed SIN and those who practice KNOWN SIN do not KNOW him and will NOT see God's KINGDOM unless they are BORN again.

Please tell us, if somone who is professing to be a BELIEVER living a life of KNOWN SIN who is breaking any of God's 10 Commandments, in a SAVED state before God or an unsaved state before God?

If you do not know what SIN is how will you know the Savior?
No.
You just dodged answering the question again.

No. You just dodged answering the question again.

Now Jim this is not true at all all my friend,

If you disagree please by all means show me from the scriptures why it is you disagree with what I have shared with you in the posts I have sent and please answer the supporting questions with scripture. I will link these posts for your consideration that have been ignored. Maybe you can answer and respond to them?

Look forward to your replay.

You have not shown anything in the scriptures you post that support your contention that Gentile Christians are required to keep the Sabbath.
I did post to you the letter which the council of Jerusalem sent to the Gentile believers at Antioch stating exactly that.
Apparently you were not convinced by their explicit statement in Acts 15 that they were not required to keep the Law or be circumcised.
If an explicit statement from scripture does not convince you then I am led to suspect you do not want to be convinced.

Now Jim, so I guess that is a NO? You will not answer the posts and the scriptures provided to you. It is ok maybe you can pray about it at home. You do not need to answer those posts and questions if you do not wish to.

As to your reference is Acts 15 this was already addressed in deatil showing that the whole chapter in CONTEXT is in reference to CIRCUMCISION as a requirement for salvation. Here was the reply sent to you earlier which is a detailed break down of Acts 15 scripture by scripture. Here in the post linked here that was not replied to. Maybe you missed it?
