YES and NO
This scripture is in CONTEXT is in reference to using FIRE to WORK on God's Sabbath which required WORK. If it is in relation to keeping warm from the cold and all the preparation is completed BEFORE God's Sabbath and the fire is started the wood cut and no work is needed of course it is ok to have a fire going on the Sabbath because it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath which is made for man not man for the Sabbath.
We are also not under the CIVIL LAWS of Israel and are in the NEW Covenant and do not put people to death for breaking any of God's Commandments. Including most of the other of God's 10 commandments were the same death penalty was required (Not just the 4th Commandment) under the CIVIL law of Israel.
YES we follow the scriptures but not your interpretation of the scripture posted underneath the scripture.
We follow God's Commandment by Faith through LOVE because we BELIEVE and FOLLOW Him who calls us. Jesus taught it is lawful to do Good on God's Sabbath. It is not lawful to follow man made traditions that make the Sabbath a burden and make man for the Sabbath. The Sabbath was made for man not man for the Sabbath.
In times of ignorance God winks at but now calls all men every where to REPENT for the KINGDOM of HEAVEN is at HAND (Acts 17:30-31)
God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)
Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)
Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?
May God bless you as you seek him through His Word.
Hope this help...
Can you show us New Testament scriptures that instruct us specifically how to observe the Sabbath under the New Covenant?
