Did you mean to write fall or fail?
I am called to present the many dire warnings in the NT.
Are they bluffs, exaggerations, lies even?
Are they to keep God's elect on the straight and narrow?
God's prophets/watchmen have been told to warn the church
about the same dire warnings as in the NT.
BTW, what do think of this? ...
The Bible is really only for God's people, not for the unsaved.
Who ever got saved by reading the word? ... Not many!
Think a Muslim understands the NT? ... No way!
Spiritual Truth only comes via spiritual revelation from God.
Not sure what your point is. The warnings/words Jesus gave us are meant to keep us from falling, to keep us from harm.
Jesus gave us instructions - to overcome the evil one. Do you know we are engaged in a spiritual battle? Where is your faith? If God is for us, who is against us? Who is there to condemn us?
Ro. 8:34
Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no
condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Jesus' words are meant to enlighten us - what to do, what not to do, what to watch for. We are already saved when we hear his voice and believe. Then the man becomes a repository of wisdom, knowledge and understanding, a temple. God isn't going to destroy/condemn his own temple.
Jesus said seek and you will find. Find what? Find the knowledge of God.
Keep in mind what the Proverb says,
Proverbs 2 Revised Standard Version (RSV)
2 My son, if you receive my words
and treasure up my commandments with you,
2 making your ear attentive to wisdom
and inclining your heart to understanding;
3 yes, if you cry out for insight
and raise your voice for understanding,
4 if you seek it like silver
and search for it as for hidden treasures;
5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord
and find the knowledge of God.
6 For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;
7 he stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
he is a shield to those who walk in integrity,
8 guarding the paths of justice
and preserving the way of his saints.
9 Then you will understand righteousness and justice
and equity, every good path;
10 for wisdom will come into your heart,
and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul;
What does it say? Receive his words. Incline your heart to understanding. Then wisdom will come into your heart. Jesus is our wisdom. We are his temple. If our eye is sound, (to see is to understand) our whole body is full of light. Mt. 6:22
Of course we keep the commandments he gave us.
I think the problem is people are still obsessed with sin when sin has no power over us. That's not to say we should sin because sin has lost it's sting or that we never sin. But we have been set free from sin. And we certainly do not promote sin. On the contrary, we have become slaves of righteousness.
And if our sinful body should cause us to sin, we have an advocate in Christ Jesus and he will intercede for us, now and forever.
