Some of the best NT verses threatening loss of salvation

lost yes went to a far country blew his inheritance.. he came to his senses does that sound like lost salvation ?

He left his father to live in sin.

the Bible plainly says he was lost.

No need to speculate.

But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles. Matthew 13:20-21

Peter said he didn’t know Him.

Peter did have to return to Christ and be restored.
so what is the difference ? peter could return the others cant ?

yes sir i surely do... the parable you refer to is a sheep goes a stray ..wonders away from the flock. the Sheppard leaves the 99 and goes and gets that one....

I answered your question that pertained to another scripture.

Ok.

I just go by what the scriptures say, and the context of the other two parables.

Either the lost need salvation or they don’t.

So which is it?

That’s in the context of this thread about losing salvation.

  • if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance,

For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame. Hebrews 6:4-6

I'm not sure what you mean by
The moment we stray.

But jesus said that the Prodigal Son was lost in the parable....
Can we believe jesus?

Must go.
Tomorrow.
right - lost and then found - the sheep was lost and then found - the coin was lost and then found -

personally i dont know of any one saved from judiasm then denounced christ ..i doubt they was ever saved -------period

All those Jews who were saved in the book of Acts, were in Judaism first.

Then their came the persecution where every left Jerusalem except the Apostles.

Who do you think was doing the persecuting?

Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away. Luke 8:13-13

when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away.

They believed.

Then later while under persecution they departed from Christ.

Believe = Saved

Believe for a while = Saved for a while

have faith means lean on God believing and trusting Him

leaving the faith means no commitment

Please show us where the scriptures mention Church attenders.

If someone is in the army, and are overwhelmed by the enemy so they depart from, or desert the army and join the other side.

That is the meaning of depart from.

  • departing from the living God;

Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, Hebrews 3:12-14

We are married to Christ; joined to Him as one spirit with Him.

If we depart from Him, we are no longer one spirit with Him; no longer joined to Him.

Just as a branch is connected in relationship to the Vine.

Believe for a while = Saved for a while
believed for a while but never saved... i believe with all my heart your dedicated to Jesus and do your best to live a Godly life. but i totally DISAGREE with what your posting it simply does not line up

being lost does not mean lose salvation - it means lose your way

So now, your saying “lost” doesn’t mean the person is in need of salvation.

Your using your own narrative and your own words and your own definitions to teach bible doctrine.

Unfortunately that’s not the language Jesus used to describe one of the sheep who wandered away and became lost.

Please examine the language and words that Jesus used.

“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.
Luke 15:4-7

  • Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’

  • I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.

The sheep who wandered away, left the place of justification, (where the 99 remained justified) and is now called a sinner and is in need of repentance.

Justified means righteous; in right standing with God.

A sinner is a term for those who are separated from Christ.

I have never heard a Christian try to redefine what “lost” means.

if a person has never been saved they are lost// if a person wonders off /goes a stray after salvation they have a advocate . if they stay away from the flock refuse to come back .they never was saved 9 They went out from us, " but they were not of us ;" for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have " continued " with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that < they were not all of us. > i dont know nor do you or anyone else know where the point of return might be.. i have notice no reply to my lengthy post
