Temporal Salvation?

The sheep did not repent, it was just lost and the Shepherd found it.

No ma’am.

Read the plain words of the explanation.

You taking the parabolic reference the “sheep” and mixing it with the explanation.

It’s about Christians, human beings that become lost.

I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.
Luke 15:7

Please answer the question.

Do the lost need salvation?

The sheep did not repent, it was just lost and the Shepherd found it.

The son was always a son and of course he repented, because he is his Father's son not the devil's child.

The lost have salvation because they are his.

It's kind of a moot point to ask if the lost need salvation, because they are given it. If we are strictly speaking in terms of the Lost sheep and Prodigal parables. There are lost that aren't his sheep and not his son. - - they need salvation

Honestly, I can see myself in the lost sheep and prodigal. I lived most of my life knowing I was loved and taken care of by the Most High, but there was a time I couldn't hear his voice and I was doing my own thing.

He loves me and he has given me the gift of salvation. I'm being honest.

If you were being honest you would answer the question.

Do the lost need salvation?

You are not accepting my answer, so therefore you keep asking me the same question....thinking my answer will start to match what you want to hear.

No, the lost do not need salvation. - We are given it because they become found.....moot point.:wall

You agree with Jethro that salvation has been made once for all time.
Hebrews 10:10 And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

You have a typical church world idea of how salvation works. If you are his, salvation is given to you. He is given people and you just don't want to accept this fact. John 10:29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand.

We are all lost then, cause we all sin.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God - I guess if you start to hear his voice, you are his

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only Gospel.

Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. John 1:16-17

There is no such thing as Paul’s gospel of grace.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is what Paul was sent to preach.

Those who obey the Gospel will se saved.

Paul’s words —

in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed. 2 Thessalonians 1:8-10

We “ obey” the Gospel Of Paul ( google it ) by Trusting in it enough to REST it ( Heb 3 and 4 ) .....counting it as being ALL SUFFICIENT to Save us, thereby giving us the Complete Assurance Of our Salvation that we can NEVER be lost for ANY reason....1 Cor 15:1-4
Salvation is a Gift and God's gifts are never taken back .....REST in the Gospel Of Grace so God does not have to call you a “ Disobedient Unbeliever”.....How one treats The Gospel is VERY Serious stuff.....you are going to be JUDGED by Paul’s Gospel come Judgement Day.... make sure you are prepared....

the words ETERNAL LIFE is what is found which is exactly what i been posting see i haven't used the words permanent salvation because it is not scripture . your grasping at straws
Eternal life is not permanent life?

Do you believe the prodigal son or the sheep who became lost were never saved? Never belonged to Christ?
the prodigal was saved he came to his senses the lost sheep was returned .just because one goes astray does not make them lost in not saved... once again i use Peter kiNG David peter cursed and denied Jesus David a man after God own heart guilty of murder adultery bot came to back to the flock Judas hung himself .i will say it again i have doubts he was ever saved . do i think judas could have got mercy and Grace ? sure but the sad thing he repented of himself .

Actually for something to be lost, it must first belong to someone. This is the point of the lost coin.

Stopped in for a moment to say, howdee to a friend or two: "HI! I miss our chats!"

Then, as is my habit, I started skimming, then reading the conversation. I should know better., right?

I used to think of one of our skills like those of a cliff walker and used to enjor skirting right up to dangerous territory line Esau v. Yakkov (Jacob) rather quickly.

As we get older we may still do such things, perhaps with more confidence, but the need to prove one's self does diminish.

So I'll just leave it at, Hi" except to say that I really do enjoy the Psalm 133 give and take here

Ty siblings. Nice sitting with you for this 'meal'.

WOW!

If the lost don’t need salvation then who does?

JLB
it how you word it . yes the Lost need salvation but not all who go astray need to be saved again as you suggest.. was peter Lost denied cursed jesus

the prodigal was saved he came to his senses the lost sheep was returned .just because one goes astray does not make them lost in not saved..

Lost here is represented as a sinner who needs to repent.

Separated from the shepherd; separated from the “just”.

Parable —

And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ Luke 15:6

Explanation —

I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance. Luke 15:7

Jesus is teaching His disciples, what they must do, to reconcile a brother who sins and goes astray.

Matthew says it this way —

“What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying?...

“Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’ And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector.
Matthew 18:12,15-17

If he doesn’t repent he remains lost, as a heathen.

??????? if it dont say it in scripture i dont use it.. just like might try or temporary salvation does it expire after 30 days ?

Eternal life refers to a quality of life.

And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. John 17:3

Knowing Him, is a reference to being joined to Him, and being one with Christ. (As a man and woman who are joined as husband and wife)

But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.
1 Corinthians 6:17

When we are joined to Christ and one spirit with Him, we are joined to and one spirit with the Spirit of life in Christ.

The Spirit of life in Christ is eternal life.

In Christ = Eternal life.

If we become removed from Christ, then we are in fact removed from the eternal life in Christ. We are no longer joined to Him and no longer one spirit with Him.

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
John 15:1-2

  • Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away;

Removed from Christ = Removed from eternal life.

Here is how we are instructed by this same John, to remain in Christ.

Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us. 1 John 3:24

John says the same exact thing, in a different way, in the previous chapter.

He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1 John 2:4

Bingo but he Peter went astray remember he even said i go a fishing even in his own words to Christ i will be there no way will i ever leave you.. i give peter the benefit of the doubt the man had a zeal out of this world,, it was not a accident he cut the roman solider ear off. he knew how to use the sword a message as your head is next

my point is because a person goes astray does not make them lost and in need of salvation . every thing i explain to you.is read with tunnel vision . you feel the osas doctrine is dangerous and i will say this again i do not teach osas . i teach that you can know you have eternal life

.in reality we are only saved one time. nothing in scripture do i find saved over and over. we are to repent if a bro is overtaken in fault we who are spiritual should try to restore Gal 6:1 . i also will say this again eternal salvation is not a license to do as we please .nor is it a excuse to say even though i am eternally saved i can sin. still go to heaven that IS not bible .
ONE THAT DOES THAT I DOUBT THEY WAS EVER SAVED. MY LAST COMMENT . i am pos perseverance of the saints those truly saved will stick with it. if they do astray like peter like the prodigal .they will return.. get things right with God

??????? if it dont say it in scripture i dont use it..
But if the scriptures describe eternal life as being permanent, not temporary, then I think it is fair to say it is permanent life....even though those precise words for salvation are not used in scripture (as far as I know).

...temporary salvation does it expire after 30 days ?
Eternal life is not temporary.
Your possession of the life that lasts forever may be temporary if you stop believing in Christ.
And so eternal life is temporary in that sense.

Salvation is eternal because Christ only had to perform his ministerial work in heaven one time for all time, not because
we can't lose the salvation that is eternal. If you stop believing in Christ you will in fact lose the salvation that never has to be renewed that you received when you first believed. That's why the author of Hebrews tells us to hold fast our confession of faith. He wouldn't say that if eternal life meant you can't lose it.

John 15:1-2
is that all you have is john 15 . it dont matter to me how you believe. i will oppose the term temporary salvation . if it is posted 100 times a hundred times i will oppose . if scripture dont say the word temporary. then it aint scripture
