The 7 Deadly Sins Of The Christmas Tree

P.S. For your amusement: I just ate some Lefse ten minutes ago, my Grandmother is cooking it this morning (and graciously requested me to be the taste-tester, which I of course accepted :-) ), so that we can take it up to Wisconsin this year where we are going to visit my Aunt, Uncle, and four cousins who live up there for about a week for Christmas (and hopefully go snowmobiling as well). Its sugary, heavenly taste is drawing me towards a nap as we speak. ;)

God Bless,

tabcom,

I find your offerings a welcome surprise here on the forums. So many have been misled for so long that it is certainly refreshing to find that there are those that accept the 'truth' regardless of how 'unpopular' it is.

I thank you for your offerings and you have defended the truth in as patient and humble a manner as possible.

Blessings,

You're mistaken, Mike. The 'truth' is extremely 'popular' and has been accepted by more than a billion people, as is evident on this thread. And don't get too pleased yet, with tabcom; you've yet to ask him if he believes that Christ is in fact God.

I am so glad that Jesus sees the intent of the heart! Man can so quickly corrupt our simplicity in Christ and make life so complicated.

Praise God that He isn't like man!! :clap :thumb

Sorry, Destiny. I'm unsure of your position on this subject; do you consider displaying a Christmas tree to be idolatry or not?

If I've decoded your veiled question correctly -- no, I'm not a Jehovah's Witnesses.

That was more directed at Imagician than you. Imagician does not believe that Jesus is God/is in the Trinity. But that is definitely another discussion.

Tabcom: Josh is correct, i was not implying that you're a Jehovah's Witness.

Ali,

You've yet to ask ME if Christ is in FACT God Himself. So it may well be YOU that is surprised more than your presumption indicates you think I would be.

folks, tabcom 'started' this thread with words STRAIGHT from the Bible that ALL here proclaim to read and believe. The keyword here: BELIEVE.

Yet there are still those that would read it and dismiss it as quickly as they find within it's words that which does not PLEASE their 'flesh'.

If the words offered are NOT an 'exact' description of what we DO at Christmas with the 'Christmas Tree', then I contend that NO amount of information offered by God would be accepted by those that INSIST upon having it THEIR WAY.

The words are simply put and simple to UNDERSTAND yet there are STILL those that would insist OTHERWISE. Amazing.............

I am UTTERLY confused as to how one can 'venerate' and NOT consider that to BE 'worship'. Only in the minds and hearts of men that INSIST upon creating their OWN definitions is such a 'thing' even possible.

Folks, that which we ADORE IS that which we 'worship'. No mincing of words is able to alter this reality. One can certainly ignore the truth but that doesn't change it in the least EXCEPT in their own minds and hearts. This is the SAME method used by Satan to entice Eve. A 'tiny altering' of the truth at first that eventually leads to TOTAL deception.

We were told NOT to be like those that go into the woods, cut down a tree and make for it a 'stand'. Then decorate it and revere it as if it were 'some kind of god'. This inanimate object that no longer EVEN HAS LIFE; it cannot speak, nor move, it cannot DO anything of itself. Yet the pagans revere it as if it WERE some kind of god with power.

It doesn't get much PLAINER than this. Yet, for the sake of SELF, many would ignore these words or even DENY them outright. Hmmm........wonder how THAT got 'started' in the FIRST place.......?

Feel free to explain your beliefs and 'suprise' me.

I'll try to offer it as simply as Christ Himself DID: Jesus Christ IS The Son of God. Taught BY God. And sent BY God. Ressurected BY God and the ONE who now sits at the right hand of God. One to whom one day ALL knees will bow.

God is the Head of Christ, as Christ IS the Head of man, as man is the Head of woman. A part of the Godhead. I simply accept the identity of Christ as WHO He has revealed Himself to BE. Nothing more, nothing less. I have 'created' NO 'labels' or confusion concerning His identity. Christ IS: The Firstborn of EVERY creature.

Christ reveals Himself to WHOM the Father CHOOSES. And NO ONE may KNOW the Father EXCEPT through Christ.

Any further explanation of my understanding of the identity of Christ is irrelevant to our discussions. There is little to be gained through believing that Christ is ANYTHING other than that which has been offered through Word and Spirit. And MUCH that can be lost when we 'step in' and 'choose' to ADD to that which IS the 'simplicity' of Christ Jesus.

I BELIEVE Jesus Christ.

I BELIEVE God.

And the Holy Spirit is that which is ABLE to guide us in an understanding and a furtherance of a relationship WITH God and His Son.

I hope this offers enough to give you an 'idea' of what I have learned and accepted. And this through Word and Spirit WITHOUT the interferance of MEN attempting to 'teach' me 'something different'.

Blessings,

MEC
