The Angel Thread...

Chasing rainbows? I'm sorry, I'm unfamiliar with that euphemism. You mean worshiping the Angels instead of God or something? :shrug

mmmm, why not? I would want to. We fight not against flesh and blood, so to get a peek at the real deal would have to be very enlightening.

John 16:33
33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world./(KJV)

We have on our side the most powerful God of any that the world has ever seen or conceived. He will not leave us or forsake us, He will not put on us more than we can bear. He will be with us. He has already won. We have the authority of any entity in existence in the name of Jesus Christ. He is more than powerful, he is GOD. With God on our side, who can stand against us?!

One utterance...Lord Jesus, Help! :gavel

This is all scripture sister. I know you stand on the Word or wont believe it...So...do you believe it? :wink
If God wanted us to see into that other dimension He would have made it possible.

We have so much blessed and glorious revelation in Scripture, the central theme of which is the Lord Jesus, that delving spiritually beyond what Scripture reveals is unnecessary (and can also be very unhelpful). Blessings, f

Exactly. He knows what is best for us....right?Unfortunately too many people do not see that in our world.

It says I think in Deuteronomy that the things which are revealed belong to us and to our children. Blessings, f

I do think that much will be revealed when we get to heaven.Jesus will answer those questions that we ask now.

Yes,I totally agree.I think there will be many surprises in heaven.Wonderful surprises.

Even now, when we meditate on Him, it's true what the hymn says: "...the things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light of His glory and grace."

Many people actually think they will become angels when they die.Like the harps and sitting on the clouds. Not the case at all.

Believers are more privileged than angels because we know, and give praise for, the Lord Jesus' redeeming love. Blessings.

I wonder if the angels will serve us in heaven. It sounds like it.

Hebrews 1 says that angels are "ministering spirits, sent to minister to them that shall be heirs of salvation" (Hebrews 1).

You got that out of verse 10? :thinking

1Co 11:9 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
1Co 11:10 For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.
1Co 11:11 Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.

Notice the words 'for this cause' what cause? The one in v 9.
The power on her head is her husband. I personally believe this is talking about the symbol of wearing a veil on her head as was the custom even in Persia as well as among the Jews.

'because of the angels' as been interpreted and tried to be explained by many, many Bible scholars all the way back to the earliest writers in the first few centuries of the church.
My suggestion is that you read what several commentaries say about the whole verse.
Most admit that they don't know exactly what the whole verse means and especially the part about the angels.
I don't even try to understand it, maybe the Lord will show me someday. But if all these men that were Greek and Hebrew scholars and indwelled by the Holy Spirit don't know for sure, I doubt I will ever know here on this earth. (I lean towards the idea of ministering angels being present in assemblies).
You can read several different commentaries here it is interesting to read.

But would we really want to see into this Spiritual dimension? It might be very frightening.
If God wanted us to see into that other dimension He would have made it possible.

He did, and does at times. (Several times in Scripture)

2 Kings 6
Elisha answered, “I will go,” 4 so he went with them. When they arrived at the Jordan, they cut down some trees. 5 As one man was cutting down a tree, the head of his ax fell into the water. He yelled, “·Oh no [T Alas], my ·master [lord]! I borrowed that ax!”

6 ·Elisha [L The man of God] asked, “Where did it fall?” The man showed him the place. Then Elisha cut down a stick and threw it into the water, and it made the iron head float. 7 Elisha said, “Pick up the axhead.” Then the man reached out and took it.

8 The king of Aram was at war with Israel. He ·had [would have] a council meeting with his officers and ·said [say], “I will set up my camp in ·this [such and such a] place.”

9 Elisha, the man of God, ·sent [would send] a message to the king of Israel, saying, “·Be careful [Beware]! Don’t pass that place, because the Arameans are going ·down [to attack/gather] there!”

10 The king of Israel ·checked [would send word to] the place about which Elisha had warned him. Elisha warned him several times, so the king ·protected himself [was on his guard] there.

11 The king of Aram was ·angry [greatly disturbed] about this. He called his officers together and demanded, “Tell me who of us is ·working for [siding with; C he suspects a traitor] the king of Israel.”

12 One of the officers said, “No one, my ·master [lord] and king. It’s Elisha, the prophet from Israel. He can tell ·you [L the king of Israel] what you speak in your bedroom.”

13 The king said, “Go and find him so I can send men and ·catch [capture; seize] him.”
The report came back, “He is in Dothan.”

14 Then the king sent horses, chariots, and many troops to Dothan. They arrived at night and surrounded the city.

15 ·Elisha’s [L The man of God’s] servant got up early, and when he went out, he saw an army with horses and chariots all around the city. The servant said to Elisha, “·Oh no [T Alas], my ·master [lord], what ·can [will] we do?”

16 Elisha said, “Don’t be afraid. ·The army that fights for us is larger than the one against us [L Those with us are more than those with them].”

17 Then Elisha prayed, “Lord, open my servant’s eyes, and let him see.”
The Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw that the ·mountain [hillside] was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

18 As the enemy came down toward Elisha, he prayed to the Lord, “·Make [Strike] these people blind.” So he made the Aramean army blind, ·as Elisha had asked [L in accordance with the word of Elisha].

19 Elisha said to them, “This is not the ·right road [way] or the ·right city [city]. Follow me and I’ll take you to the man you are looking for.” Then Elisha led them to Samaria [C the city, not the region].

20 After they entered Samaria, Elisha said, “Lord, open these men’s eyes so they can see.” So the Lord opened their eyes, and the Aramean army saw that they were inside the city of Samaria!

21 When the king of Israel saw the Aramean army, he said to Elisha, “My father, should I kill them? Should I kill them?”

22 Elisha answered, “Don’t kill them. ·You wouldn’t [L Would you…?] kill people whom you captured with your sword and bow. Give them food and water, and let them eat and drink and then go home to their ·master [lord].” 23 So he prepared a great feast for the Aramean army. After they ate and drank, the king sent them away, and they went home to their ·master [lord]. The ·soldiers [raiders] of Aram did not come anymore into the land of Israel.

I agree. The problem is that many want to worship the angels. The angels themselves would probably say "Praise the Lord, not me".
Revelation 22:7-9
Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
7 “Look! I am coming very soon. Blessed is the person who obeys the words of the prophecy written in this book!”

8 Then I, Yochanan, the one hearing and seeing these things, when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel showing them to me. 9 But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am only a fellow-servant with you and your brothers, the prophets and the people who obey the words in this book. Worship God!

I agree, he did, does now, and even instructed us to become mature Christians and to try to see the spiritual dimension. To exercise our spiritual senses. Have a look:

Hebrews 5: 14
14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil./
