The Ark of the Covenant found?

I saw a "picture" of a temple. But not Davids Tabernacle.

I had asked jason for his thoughts on Davids tabernacle. Been in many studies on the temples and their layout etc.

Davids tabernacle I am not speaking of a temple. Davids tabernacle was what we would call a tent.

Having been to the Ron Wyatt Museum and meeting his long time friend Richard Rives, seeing the photographs of the ark... I am not sold. I imagine it could be, but they really are not anything to hinge your life on.

I say that having also seen Ron Wyatt's other exploits such as Noah's Ark, Sulphuric pellets from Sodom and Gomorah, Pharaoh's chariots... I am convinced of those. Having held the artifacts in my hands is a humbling experience.

That being said, I can't imagine he would lie about it or that the people remaining would knowingly run a lie.

If I recall....
The Tabernacle became stationary at Shiloh. Actually, the "tent" was replaced by a mini-temple in Shiloh.

David wanted to move the Arc to Jerusalem. The reason the two fellows who died when they touched the Arc when it started to slip was because they were not Levites. According to Law, only Levites could tend to the duties of the Arc without dying. And moving the Arc from Shiloh to Jersualem was a Levitical duty.

Stove, Way back before you were born hehe i thought i remembered from Sunday School class that two guys died when they touched the Ark.... Some one here challenged that thought and when i reread it seems only one died .... So help me out here was it one or two?

The Scriptures tell us "He will rebuild the tabernacle of David"..... what i find is the tabernacle of David was a very simple. I am thinking more like what we would call an awning... the Holy of Holies was there the separation between God and His people was gone.... At the Cross the Vail separating the presence of God from the people was 'rent' the presence of God was once again in the midst of His people....

Ha,
Seems we were both taught wrong on a couple of things. I spent a little bit of time today looking at this (not enough) but you are right. Only Uzzah dies. Not only that, but he was more than likely a Levite. (I am tracking geneology and will see what I can find but on the surface he would have been a levite). The issue with it falling is that the Ark was never to be moved by a cart, but it was to be shouldered. (Numbers 7, verse 9 to be specific). More later.. Running late again...

:wave

I got it Stove! The two guys were moving the Ark and when the Uzzah touch the ark the other got smart real quick!

Smart as in they shouldn't have been moving it with a cart. It was to "be upon their shoulders" ;)

I wonder why I was always taught that "they" weren't Levites and I think it's almost common for "Them" to have died. Wow, wake up call huh?

This is sorta off track but i think i see the flannelgraph board picture with 2 guys a cart with the Ark on the cart so i assumed it was two guys...but only one touched it..

Exo 25:15 The staves shall be in the rings of the ark: they shall not be taken from it.

me thinks they could only touch the staves....

Numbers 7:4 The Lord said to Moses, 5 “Receive these things from them, that they may be used in the work of the meeting tent. Give them to the Levites, to each man for the work he does.†6 So Moses took the wagons and the bulls, and gave them to the Levites. 7 He gave two wagons and four bulls to the sons of Gershon, for the work they were doing. 8 He gave four wagons and eight bulls to the sons of Merari, for the work they were doing under the leading of Ithamar the son of Aaron the religious leader. 9 But Moses did not give any to the sons of Kohath. They had the duty of taking care of the holy objects which had to be carried on their shoulders.

Ohh the flannel boards! :p We like the flannel boards!

Your comment about rebuilding the David Tabernacle / whatever, prompted all this.
How about looking for the real spiritual Ark to rebuild. Man after his fall has to be rebuilt. If you touch Gods annointed there is danger too (like touching the Ark).

When you have symbolism you have a spiritual reality and a physical symbol to represent that spiritual reality. IMHO what is usually described is the physical symbol and seldom the spiritual reality.

Of course I am just a jerk from Mississippi and what could I know about realities. I do know that He stands at the door to our individual self an if we open the door he will come in to us. Into Us? Well yes I feel the human body (made by God) has a lot of tabernacle parallels: Two lavers for washing (the kidneys), covered with hides (we have skin), staves to give the tabernacle shape (we have bones), clouds give signs for movement during the day (thoughts wile awake), pillar of fire by night (dreams of light with our eyes closed). The tabnercale was mobile and we are mobile....etc.....

IMHO the lungs look a lot like wings. The heart is discussed as a place God dwells in. Twenty four elders bow before the throne and 24 ribs curve around the heart). If you begin to use our being (made by God) as the image the Ark was made from, then to me it all makes more sense.

Do not go into shock. I can slow down if necessary.

That's a very interesting observation. Kinda cool IMO>

We do know that all of the furnishings of the tabernacle were copies of heavenly items... The Bible tells us that. And we know that Moses, when he came upon holy ground, had to take his sandals off, and just as well, when the priests ministered within the tabernacle they too had to take their sandals off. Why do you think that is? Perhaps it was to keep them grounded amongst all those spiritual realities... Just a thought.

But in conjunction with that idea, Jesus did pray, "Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven". So there are spiritual realities that take physical form each and every day, and we are responsible for those realities to become physical actions, but like the priests, we must have our feet firmly planted on soil, wouldn't you agree?

Nuf of that soap box. Wanna know what I thought was cool? You know the first part of Ezekiel where he talks about chariots, and wheels and all that weird stuff?... Did you know before the exile that Ezekiel ministered in the temple? Yup, all them weird things was just a picture of the Ark, and the Ark was taking the form of Mt. Sinai with all it's thunder and smoke. Yup, pretty cool. How do I know this? The Psalms tell us!

:waving

I believe the rebuilding of the Tabernacle of David has started. I believe it is the presence of God in the midst of His people.

Absolutely!

Solomon built the first Temple, and he was the Son of David. Jesus is known as the Son of David and he said, "Tear this temple down, and I will rebuild it in 3 days" And everyone knows where the Ark of the Covenant was placed.. in the holy of hollies of course! And that was the dwelling place of God, right about the cheribum :wave

But more to the point, when they called Jesus the Son of David, where they looking for another King like Solomon? What kind of a Son would Jesus be? Most were expecting one like Solomon with all his grandeur. Ironic huh? No wonder the curtain was rent in two... top to bottom.

Praise the LORD! we, need no other high Priest then our King Jesus. The Holy of Holies was ripped open not only in the man built temple but on the Cross! The sprinkling of blood was that of Christ thee Lamb of God...

I picture Him dragging that old rough hewn Cross step by step the sins of this world piling on and on...adding to the weight adding to pain... That Lamb

Then on to the glorious Resurrection He took our sins, it aint fair but, we share in HIS Resurrection!

When I share all this human body symbolism I think it exists. Now just because it exists, I do not think it is necessary for everyone. However, Romans 1:19-20 does say that any man can understand the things of God from creation. I could go wild with thoughts of every body part, but I am going to try and go slow with all this. My carnal mind could go wild with thoughts.

Revelation 3:20 He knocks at our individual door (any man) and He will come into him (individual). I have no problem with Jesus being amoung us, in heaven, in us individually. There are several heavens and God is in all of them. Our human body just shows the symbolism from creation (hidden but there). It is said he does not dwell in houses made by man.

The natural pacemaker of our heart really does look like a crucified little man. He fits the description of Isaiah 53.

I do not want to burn folks out with too much talk of all this. On the evidence of two or three wittnesses shall a thing be established, and it can be scripture and nature or two people or any combination.

We are made to receive Jesus into ourselves.

yes, the word for tabernacle means house of not temple of in that case. even the jews of today per rashi a well respected rabbi to the jews said that verse in zechariah means the house of david was restored.

We are His body?

There is so much Jesus accomplished for us, that I am in awe of all of it.

Peter saw us as lively stones built into a spiritual house, a holy priesthood I Peter 2:5

Thirty plus years ago I received a prophecy that I would become a priest. It was just a few years ago that I begin to see that the human body symbolism had to do with that priesthood. As a jerk from Mississippi I have no idea why he stuffed my head full of all that. I have taken a lot of flack at times. It is not about me though it is about Jesus.

Paul saw us as body parts forming the body of Christ. I Corinthians 12:15- ~27.
We just have to watch that we do not develop lupus of the body of Christ (not fight one against the other).

We are in Christ. Christ is in us. We pray. Jesus intercedes for us ---etc.

Keep me straight, I need it.
