The Author of salvation to those obeying Him !

That's not what the bible says. It says IF YOU OBEY MY COMMANDS!

And they will if they are elect ezk 36:

26A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

27And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

This verse from eze is addressed to the nation of Israel.

It in no way changes the meaning of the verse I posted.

God has called you. You have been touched by his grace. You now have no excuse for your disobedience, nor do I.

We must strive for holiness or face the consequences of our disobedience:

1 Corinthians 10:12 "Therefore let him who thinks he is standing, beware, that he does not fall".

Hebrews 2:1 "Therefore we must pay greater attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away".

2 Timothy 2:12 "If we endure, we shall also reign with Him; If we deny Him, He also will deny us".

2 Peter 2:20-21 "They were made free from the evil in the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. But if they return to evil things and those things control them, then it is worse for them than it was before. Yes, it would be better for them to have never known the right way than to know it and to turn away from the holy teaching that was given to them."

Matthew 10:22 "And you will be hated by all for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.

Please provide us with the quote when I said that statement, for i dont recall saying that, because i dont believe that

I have.

You gonna ignore that, too, like many verses in the Bible that explicitly state that God desires all men to be saved? That Jesus died for the sins of the WORLD? That God's graces rain down on good and evil??? That God does not desire that even evil men "die"? That Paul has not yet acheived perfection??? Really, can you advance your argument beyond the "cause I said so" level???

What kind of "Christian" are you? Can't you be bothered to actually scroll back one page when I ALREADY SAID I POSTED IT??? :mad

Wednesday, about 9:30 am, on this very thread, I posted the pertinent post. But you don't read my posts, anyway, so I shouldn't be surprised by such a response... :screwloose

prove it or be found a liar..

What's the matter, your mom didn't show you how to use your computer yet? :gah

Go back to page 4, like I said, find Wednesday's posts, and you will find your self contradicting your dribble...

What's especially idiotic is that you ask me this same question and the pertinent post is RIGHT ABOVE IT! Duh!

Do you even READ other people's posts??? :mad

Yes, dishonesty should not be tolerated ..and you condone it..

No...I simply believe you should pick the plank from your own eye before you accuse others of anything. Your claims about being one of the "elect" fall short when you post in such a manner. The fruit on a tree (or lack thereof) is obvious to everyone....we do have eyes to see. :yes

But what if your vision was imperfect?

I'v'e been perfected by the blood. :)

"Being perfected" would be more accurate. We all know we are not perfected YET. As we grow in Christ, we "die" to self and He becomes more visible in our lives.

I was making a small joke concerning the elect being perfect even before we were saved. ;)

Our only perfection now is Christ in us. So, you're right...we are being perfected. Until we're given our glorified body we have not yet attained.
Phil. 3:9-14 said:
9And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: 10That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; 11If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. 12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. 13Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Perfected in that verse is in the perfect tense, a compelted action in the past..

Study light interlinear defines the perfect tense as :

Perfect
The perfect tense in Greek corresponds to the perfect tense in English, and describes an action which is viewed as having been completed in the past, once and for all, not needing to be repeated.

Jesus' last cry from the cross, TETELESTAI ("It is finished!") is a good example of the perfect tense used in this sense, namely "It [the atonement] has been accomplished, completely, once and for all time."
