Well, I may be a whipper snapper, but I wish I was young. Unfortunately I'm quite the fossil. And like I have stated, crazy religious fanatics are of no use to Jesus Christ. People who say they have visions of John Lennon in hell are the very reason we have a rapidly growing atheist population. If delusional nut jobs would keep their mouths shut, and Christianity was taught and introduced properly, with dignity and common sense, Christ would be a subject people would WANT to talk about, not shun. Tell me, is the goal of a Christian to "look holier" than others, or is it to lead others to the beauty that is Jesus Christ? Remember, our righteousness are as filthy rags (that includes ALL of us). It is His Blood that covereth our unrighteousness, NOT our own vain attempts to be holy. Why don't you worry about your own relationship with the Lord, mind your own business, and stop judging others you feel are less righteous than yourself. And study this Scripture well:

Luke 18:9 "And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted."

I'll tell you what, I grew up with an extended family that did their very best to "look holy" but behind the scenes there was fighting, verbal and emotional abuse, addiction, prejudice and hypocrisy. I love my family, but when I was growing up they were more concerned with how church and community members viewed them than how they treated each other and others outside their church community. Thankfully, many of them have matured and behave in a more Christlike manner towards each other and "outsiders."

Yes, our goal is to live as shining examples of Christ with our Godly lives. But we have to be very careful not to put ourselves on our own self-made pedestals raised high enough that we can look down on those below us and beneath our principles.

What is a "Godly life" in your eyes? Feel free to go in-depth about this. This is a very complex, interesting topic (one that may call for its own thread).
