The Church reigning with Him on Earth.

From your two previous posts shown as quotes above, I supposed that you were saying that Jesus is going to rule over the earth during the millennium from the earthly Jerusalem, and with the following post I was attempting to show why that I believe Jesus will rule from heaven instead.

Behold, the day of the Lord is coming,
And your spoil will be divided in your midst.
For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem;
The city shall be taken,
The houses rifled,
And the women ravished.
Half of the city shall go into captivity,
But the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

Then the Lord will go forth
And fight against those nations,
As He fights in the day of battle.
And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives,
Which faces Jerusalem on the east.
And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two,
From east to west,
Making a very large valley;
Half of the mountain shall move toward the north
And half of it toward the south.
Then you shall flee through My mountain valley,
For the mountain valley shall reach to Azal.
Yes, you shall flee
As you fled from the earthquake
In the days of Uzziah king of Judah.

Thus the Lord my God will come,
And all the saints with You.
Zechariah 15:1-5

again

16 And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. 17 And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, on them there will be no rain. Zechariah 14:16-17

He comes from Heaven to earth, to reign from His throne in Jerusalem, as King over the whole earth.

We see this in Revelation 19-20

11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head weremany crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:

KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather together for the supper of the great God, 18 that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people,free and slave, both small and great.”

19 And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. 20 Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21 And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.

Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; 3 and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while. 4 And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years. Revelation 19:11-20:6

Comes from Heaven to Earth, to rule over the nations with a rod of Iron.

Revelation 19:

  • He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron.

Hi JLB, do you realize that Revelation Chapter Nineteen as well as Rev 20:1-3 occurs prior to the millennium?
Rev 19:17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
(Isn’t this the battle of Armageddon, and I’ve got a note that that will end approximately seven months prior to the millennium?)
Rev 19:9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. (This is the midnight hour of the tribulation Mt 25:6)

We read in Rev 20:1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
Rev 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
Rev 20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

Hi JLB, do you realize that Revelation Chapter Nineteen as well as Rev 20:1-3 occurs prior to the millennium?

I believe Revelation 19 occurs on the last Day; The Day of the Lord, whereby Jesus returns to earth, to gather His people from the four corners of earth, and the four corners of heaven, in the air to be with Him as He descends down to Jerusalem, to be seated upon His Throne, as King over the whole earth, after He defeats His enemies, and the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of our Lord Jesus Christ, in which all those kingdoms will become as chaff on the summer threshing floor, and never to be seen again.

Then He and those faithful will be seated upon thrones, to reign with Him for 1000 years here on earth.

34 You watched while a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image on its feet of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces. 35 Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were crushed together, and became like chaff from the summer threshing floors; the wind carried them away so that no trace of them was found. And the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth. Daniel 2:34-35

  • the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were crushed together, and became like chaff from the summer threshing floors; the wind carried them away so that no trace of them was found.

and again

43 As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. 44 And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. 45 Inasmuch as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold—the great God has made known to the king what will come to pass after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation is sure.” Daniel 2:43-45

in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

again

15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” Revelation 11:15

  • The kingdom of God on earth, with all the wicked removed, in which people have immortal bodies that will never die, just as it is in heaven, so shall it be on earth, whereby the Glory of the Lord covers the earth, as the water covers the sea.

hello Nathan, dirtfarmer here

Jesus as the messiah was an earthly kingdom thing. The disciples in Acts 1:6 asked the risen Christ; " Wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? "Repent and be baptized for the remission of sins" is what Peter preached at first, but Paul preached" the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ". Do you believe there is a difference in those messages?

Was Abraham a Jew or a Gentile when God told him that through his descendants the world would be blessed? It wasn't until Jacob, whose name was changed to Israel, that the earthly kingdom was established from his 12 sons. This is what Peter was referencing in Acts 1:6.

The Gentiles were not grafted into a branch, but were grafted into the root, Jesus Christ- Romans 10:18, " Boast not against the branches, But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee." Paul understood Genesis 22:17; the difference between "the sands of the sea" and "the stars of heaven."
The Gentiles were grafted onto the exact place the Jews were broken off from.

One Gospel for both. One God. One Christ. One message. One sacrifice.

There is no plurality in how God saves mankind.

One feast, where all will eat.

Huh, now I thought JLB posted it.

.....anyway, Jesus didn't leave on a horse. You need to get past that. He ascended into the clouds not riding a horse. The next return will be with the clouds...not on a horse.
Place a horse at Christ ascention and you may have a point....
If you read the passages again you'll see that there is only one "second" coming of Christ. He is only coming again once. So when He does, He will accomplish everything that is said about His coming again.

Point is, just because you see different pictures of the same event, does not mean they are not the same event. One sees Him on clouds, one sees Him on a horse - same event.

hello Nathan, dirtfarmer here

So are we to preach "repent and be baptized for the remission of sins" or are we to preached that "Christ paid for our sin"? As I see it, "repent and be baptized for the remission of sins" removes Christ and belief in him for salvation.

The first message is the same as the second.

Acts 17
29 Being then God's offspring, we ought not to think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of man.
30 The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent,
31 because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.

Repentance is a must in order to believe in Christ. See, you can only believe in one way of salvation - so if you are trusting in yourself(anything you do), you must repent(turn from that) in order to believe Jesus is the way.

Repentance is not contradictory to faith in Christ. Baptism into Him is nessesary for the renewal of our minds. This is a must so one does not turn away from the truth back to the lie.

What is the Biblical description of His Kingdom ?

hello reba, dirtfarmer here

I am no bible scholar but I do understand that there are differences in The Kingdom of Heaven and The Kingdom of God. Matthew 13:33 states; " Another parable spake he unto them: "Thee kingdom of heaven" is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened." Leaven is a symbol of sins. In verse 41 it is stated; " The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity."

In John 3:3 it is stated: " Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto to thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

As I study these two aspects of the kingdoms, I do see a difference: One has sins as represented by leaven, then grows and one has the necessity of being "born again" to enter, no leaven at all.

Rom_14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

What is the Biblical description of His Kingdom ?

On earth [natural] or in Heaven [spiritual].

Spiritual: ... righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Romans 14:17

Do you see righteousness, peace and joy among the kings of the nations of the earth, and their countries in Syria, Somalia, Afghanistan ?

Here is what He says to those on earth, when He comes on that Day.

31 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: Matthew 25:31-34

  • Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

When a king physically conquers a kingdom, then that kingdom is His.

  • How many kingdoms has the Lord Jesus Christ, physically conquered on earth, whereby He removes the opposing king?

That Day is fast approaching!

Here's a snapshot of that Day:

11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
Revelation 19:11-16

That there will be no light;
The lights will diminish.
7 It shall be one day
Which is known to the Lord—
Neither day nor night.
But at evening time it shall happen
That it will be light.
Zechariah 14:1-7

  • Then the Lord will go forth and fight against those nations, as He fights in the day of battle.

Here is the result of Jesus Christ physically conquering the kings and kingdoms of this world:

16 And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. 17 And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, on them there will be no rain. If you understand that Revelation is symbolic in a lot of things, then you will understand that a white horse is also.

Just one place talking about a different view of His coming does not negate all the other passages that speak of only one return.

So, a white horse is symbolic of a cloud? or is it a cloud is symbolic of a white horse?

I could be wrong, but right now I see Jesus returning on a cloud inwhich Jesus was taken away with no horses mentioned.... then returning on a horse. Sounds like two separate events.
I am in agreement with you on this.

But I understand His Second Coming to be at the end of Daniel's 70th week, at the end of the last week of 7 years.

Israel's Feasts occured in two groups:

group 1. Beginning in the first month of Hebrew calendar,
the following accomplished in order without intermission of years:
  • 10th day - Passover Lamb selected and set aside {Christ, the Light of the world, chosen before founding of the world}
  • 14th day - Passover Lamb killed, to be eaten after 6:00pm (the hour commencing the next day) {Crucifixion}
  • 15th day - Passover observed, a high Sabbath being both a Saturday and the Passover, the fist day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread {Sabbath Rest, having finished His work of Salvation}
  • 16th day - Wave Offering of Sheaves, and the 1st of 50 days to Pentecost {Resurrection}
  • Pentecost - the 50th day counted from the Wave Offering of Sheaves {Holy Spirit Sent to concieve / to indwell / and to seal the Church}

group 2. Beginning the seventh month of the Hebrew calendar,
the following to be accomplished in order without intermission of years:
  • 1st day - Feast of Trumpets {Rapture, Second Coming} with the clouds in the air above the earth, Church taken to heaven}
  • Wedding Feast observed in heaven
  • 10th day - Day of Atonement {Judgement on white horse, Second Coming} with the armies of heaven and outside of Jerusalem among the nations, destruction of His enemies, and Atonement applied to those remaining of Abrahams decendents, Daniel's 70th week culminated
  • 15th day - Feast of Tabernacles / Booths {Second Coming} upon earth beginning at the 6:00pm hour culminating the 14th day / beginning of 15th day; Christ sets foot on the Temple Mount

hello Gregg T, dirtfarmer here

In Leviticus 23:39 the last phrase states: " and on the eighth day shall be a Sabbath." I have found some interesting interpretations about the number 8
It is the number of new beginnings, new order or creation(born again).
8th and 50th day in combination picture the first resurrection and when the saints will be raised from death and is made immortal.
7 weeks after the spring harvest ( Passover & firstfruits), 49 days, the next day, 50th, is Pentecost. This is also the 8th day of the seven weeks that are to be counted until Pentecost.

Then in the 7th month begins the fall harvest with the blowing of the trumpets. On the 10th day of the 7th month is the day of atonement feast. 10 in scripture is the number of divine completion. We find on the 15th day of the 7th month is when the feast of tabernacles begins and we find that after the 7 days of the feast of tabernacles( temporary dwellings) there is the 8th day which shall be a Sabbath.

These are some things that I find interesting about the feasts.

Hebrew male children were circumcised when they were eight days old (Gen 17:10, Lk 2:21). At the new birth of a Christian, his heart is circumcised (Col 2:11-12, Rom 2:29
