Also many false teachers have attempted to separate the event of the second coming of Christ described in 1 Thess:13-18 and that Day of the Lord in view in the same letter and context of that in 1 Thess 5:1-11; however we must remember the chapter divisions of the epistle are not inspired ! So the dreaded day of the Lord

Isa 13:6,9

Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.

Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.

Joel 2:11

And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

Rev 6:17

17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

So this Day and the Day that the Saints are caught up in the air to meet the Lord, are all the same event, if we do not believe it now, we will when it happens !

I can assure you, the time for the greatest apostasy of God's people on earth has yet to come, because it is set to happen during the coming great tribulation. And that will be the main "falling away" peirod which Paul spoke of in 2 Thess.2. It's linked with the events of 2 Thess.2:3-4, which is linked with what the "another beast" of Rev.13:11 forward will do in setting up the mark of the beast, and false worship of the image of the beast. The 70 years Babylon captivity of Judah serves as a type, as the king of Babylon then made a golden idol image of himself for all to bow in false worship to. That's when the time of testing came upon Daniel and his fellows.

I strongly disagree with the statement. The great falling away has happened, consider since ww1 when 95% of public attended church services to what we are now. Where less than 10 %attend church in the west.
The greatest revival and I gathering souls is yet to be reveiled, but God is doing something new as we speak. There is a newmove of God in Australia. His spirit manifesting in power.

Harmonizing scripture on the second coming !


Now does 1 Cor 15:51-52


51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

1 Thess 4:13-17

13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Do they harmonize ? I say they do without question. Do they both refer to the Second Advent, again they do !

How about 2 Thess 1:6-10

6 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;

7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,

8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

And Jude 1:14-15,20-21 harmonize

14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.


20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Also who are the Beloved ? Its the Church, the Body of Christ, here looking for the Second Coming !

What is the second death ?

Rev 2:11

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

The second death is the everlasting punishment to which, the wicked, the tares, the children of the devil or of the wicked one, and the unbelieving are destined.

Biblically speaking, death is not a extinction of being, but a state of being, abiding in death 1 Jn 3:14

We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

The second death will be an endless abiding in death an tormenting death or condition forever !

The Coming Resurrection !

Jesus and the prophet Daniel agree on the coming Resurrection of both the Just and Unjust. Now Jesus refer's to it here Jn 5:28-29

28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

This is the same event Daniel Prophesied of here Dan 12:2

2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
