The Death Penalty

A few years ago we had a argument on this forum' and the argument was this. I said if a man broke into your house beat and tried to rape your wife and kids what would you do just stand there because you are the model Christian or would you fight and maybe have to kill for your family. Well do you know we had about 2 or 3 people who said that they would not fight because that is not Christian. So I said well what about your wife and kids' and the reply was God would take care of it. And one of them said that he would just talk to the rapist. And I said while he is raping your wife ? And then he said God will not let that happen. And I said just because we are Christians we are not exempt from trouble. I saying all this to say this. There is a time to be passive and a time not to be passive.
Their is sin in our world. These things happen alot.I think that defending your wife and children is appropriate.I think a court of law would take a look at that. But then I think you should keep your family safe. That means an alarm system, keeping all windows and doors locked at all times.I have read where a man breaks into a home. They ask him "How did you get in?" He said "The front door". :neutral

I don't want to see people suffer TOG, I am what you would call the Christian soldier or honor guard. God does not make every Christian the same. Here is a example some Christians could not kill a fly' and then some Christians can. God makes all kinds of people with certain personalities to get the things done that He has set in place' hence The Death Penalty.

So what do you think should happen to these 2 fools below ?

Parents killed girl by making her drink too much grape soda, water, authorities say

A Tennessee couple faces murder charges for allegedly punishing the man's 5-year-old daughter by making her gulp excessive amounts of water and grape soda, leading to her death, authorities said.
Alexa Linboom was forced to guzzle the fluids after she took "one or two grape drinks" that belonged to her stepmother, District Attorney Berkley Bell told CNN affiliate WJHL.

"She was allegedly force-fed so much liquid that it caused the sodium level in her body to go down and caused her brain to swell," he said.

In addition to drinking more than 2 liters of fluids in about two hours, she also suffered other forms of punishment, Bell told the affiliate. He did not get into specifics.

The child became unresponsive, and the pair drove her to the hospital on New Year's Day in 2012.

Two days later, she was declared brain dead and removed from life support.

A two-year investigation determined her death was a homicide as a result of acute fluid/water intoxication, the Hawkins County Sheriff's Office said in a statement this week.

Randall Lee Vaughn, 41, and and his wife, Mary Lavonne Vaughn, 58, have each been charged with first degree murder, two counts of aggravated child neglect and aggravated child abuse.

The Surgoinsville residents are being held on a $500,000 bond. They did not enter a plea in their first appearance before a judge Friday, CNN affiliate WREG reported.

Information on their attorneys was not immediately available.

Their trial is scheduled to start in October.

First I would say the prosecutor has made a mistake. I have to assume he wants to put these people away, not loose his case.
First degree murder is premeditated murder. Can he prove that they did this to her with the intent to kill her. If he cannot how can a jury convict? He has to prove that they knew that her sodium levels could be elevated and that it could cause her to die. Opps..

I hate this....these people need to be severely punished with yrs. of prison time.

I think that the court would look at the mode of entry.Yes,some people are going to try and get in no matter what the obstacles are but why make it easy?We have lived in neighborhoods where many are being broken into.Several families get together and install a burglar alarm system...No more break ins.....

Yes we are to make our homes safe' but also the wife can be out shopping and is putting groceries in the car on a parking lot' and some idiot kidnaps rapes and kills her. Those are the fools who need to die.

This is another of those difficult teachings. The first question that must be answered is, "Will you follow God and if yes, then how faithfully? Many, for a wide array of reasons, want to be Conscientious Objectors without having to think the problem through and without the full light of God' s scripture.

We find in the four Gospels that Jesus is God, cloaked in the flesh of a man, making Him our example to lie up to. So who is, this, Jesus we give lip service to? In John 1:1-3 we discover that Jesus, the spirit there of, is the God of creation and all else in the Bible. So, take a look at Mal. 3:6a and we learn that God has neve and God will never change.

This means we have a good deal of instruction to consider and since the first five books, the Books of the Law Moses recorded when inspired and led by God. In the books of the Mosaic Law, there are, as mentioned, a number of offenses that require the Death Penalty if one is found guilty. I have chosen to shed myself, as much a possible, and, as much as I can, to put on God (to live like God.) With the advent of DNA in the Court Room I cannot find a person deserving of the Death Penalty without a DNA Connection but, there is not one single thing I ca do about the past.

There are volumes of good lessons we must learn from the experiences of our fore fathers and one that screams at us from every generation is that we must not fear being soldiers in God's service. Fear of Righteousness is the product of Satan' s influence and has nothing to do with following Jesus. At te same time, we must never lust for the death of one of them!

The death of a man, when you are looking at his or her eyes, is the death of the man killing that murderer, rapist, molester or what ever. I am a man that has killed men that needed killing and I have shot targets from my aircraft and i have killed men when they over-run our Green Line Defenses. When you shoot targets from a few hundred feet in the air can, actually be fun. Killing a man at six feet, as he is lifting his gun to kill you, is also easy to do, if you've been trained. But, the first man I killed, up close, so close I could have jerked the AK47 out of his grip, was the day the child, Bill Taylor. died. I was still alive in the sense that my heart pumped and my lungs still processed air. But, at the age of 23, with over six years of service, the child in me lived, never again and the burdens of those days began to weigh and have have never lightened their weight.

If you have never killed, up close and personal, you do not want to go there. There is not enough Bourbon in this universe to erase the dreams that follow... for ever.

Yes,I have read several accounts of this where I live.I try to take safety measures and park in well lit areas.Alot of times it is not random.Their is a motive to the act such as X husband, boyfriend etc.It is more rare for it to be random but that does happen.

2 Timothy 2
4 No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.

Romans 12
19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written,“Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.

Okay who here believes in the Death Penalty ? Well I do and the Bible backs it up. Now the one problem I have is that' people get wrongly convicted. And with the invention of DNA testing many have been exonerated' now just supposed they were executed like many have in this country' who were innocent. But nevertheless I still want the Death Penalty to stay and on some I would pull the switch myself. Romans 13 gives man the authority to do so, and you know what the Old Testament says. There are many cases where the culprit should be tried and executed within a week. And also for some cases they should still use the electric chair and run the switch to my house on my desk while I am viewing via webcam. When you kidnap and kill babies and children the elderly or any innocent person and you cause their intensional death. You should be put to death unless God has mercy upon you' and many times He does and many time He does not.

I believe that those who commit murder, rape children etc. should be given the death penalty. Institutions like Amnesty International have a misplaced sense of compassion. A few years ago a man raped a teenager here and tied the mother up so that she had to witness the whole thing. What should be done with people like that. Drug pushers and the Mafia who execute people, should we allow them to roam the streets. If the arguments of some people is carried to its logical conclusion, eventually the decent lawabiding people would have to be placed in jail for their own safety and allow the criminals to run wild.
A MAN WHO IS DEAD CANNOT KILL AGAIN. With the advent of DNA testing this could eliminate a lot of problems...but remember, there was no DNA testing many years ago and most criminals were executed for their wrong doing.

A few years ago a man in the USA was charged for murder he spent time and then was placed on parole. On the advice of shrinks who declared that he was ready to fit back into society. This man came out got a job as a maintenance man at a building project.. He befriended a woman and then later he killed the lady's little girl. Those who felt that he was ready to be a decent citizen wrung their hands asking, why. IF HE HAD BEEN HANGED FOR THE FIRST MURDER HE COULD NOT KILL THE SECOND TIME.

Do you know if a mass murderer asks Jesus into their life and asks for forgiveness that they will go to heaven?Even if it is 5 minutes before they are executed.

The operative word here is IF..you or I don't know that...if they ask for forgiveness before they are executed, that is is good, but the society will be free from that murder and would not have to worry about him killing again. Even if he asked God for forgiveness the physical death would be no barrier to him going to heaven.what is the problem. The point is as I said, a dead person cannot kill again. Have you ever lost someone by murder.:rolleyes

Kathi I think that if the Holy Spirit lead them to repentance yes.
But if they just said words and a prayer, just in case there really is a God, a Jesus, a hell...no.

A murderer can go to heaven' but there are still consequences for what you do in the body. Yes God will for give you if you ask and you have turned your life over to Him. But you can still be sent to the chair for your past crime of murder.
