Doing some Islamic study, using Islams most authentic and trusted sources of course. Narrated by Aisha. I'm trying to figure out the origin of the Hijab.
Looks like it was Umar (The 2nd caliph of Islam) who wanted the hijab and women to be veiled, not Mohammad. It took pressure on Mohammad and the creeping on his wife before allah (mohammads mind) would reveal the hijab.
How creepy would that be for a woman, your off to go toilet in the dark in private and some man calls out and says, or, approachs and says "I recognise you".
Best wear a burka according to Mohammad, I don't think he was a fan of other men creeping on his wives at night when they needed to go toilet.
Obviously Mohammad had to reveal the hijab as he was the prophet so it had to come from him not Umar. No pressure, no pressure.
One thing I like about Islams most trusted sources is they always give detail.
Don't worry about the added words in brackets, that's the versions added two cents.
