My first CAA (Crossfires Across America) meet (based in Eureka Springs, Arkansas) is a blast. I got roped into being a route leader, and I'm cool with that - got some good comments on my efforts and, because of working in Oklahoma/Missouri/Arkansas two years ago, I knew of a few attractions to show my group that were not on the maps...

Half an hour of looking after my nephews and the house is a mess and i already got a headache. I just made one hoover all the egg shells off nanas carpet before she gets home. They leave a trail of mess every place they go. At least i know where they are, i just follow the messy trail.
 
I'm back from Arkansas. It was a WONDERFUL trip - Eureka Springs is a magical town with great food, great shopping, great drives, interesting natural attractions.... the list goes on.

Anyway, a little last-minute detail (after two hours of cleaning...) and it's bedtime.
My car has her own apartment! She will be safe here as I hit the road tomorrow on business travel.

Suggestion:Check beforehand to make sure this hotel isn't a "host hotel" for an event.

Reason for Trip:To get away from the stress in our lives and relax

We were very disappointed to find out when we arrived that this hotel was the host hotel for a car convention that was in town. We were there to get away from the stress in our lives and to focus on each other. We planned on spending some time relaxing in the pool. But, all the hundreds of people that came for their car convention were just hanging around the pool visiting. There was NO way we could go get in the pool and be on display in front of all the people just standing around socializing. It was so disappointing and not the peaceful relaxing weekend we thought we were going to get. I really wish I would have been told that they were hosting this convention before I booked this place. I would have definitely gone somewhere else where we could have really had the peace and quiet we were looking for.

Notice that she does NOT say we were obnoxious or anything - you know, she makes it sound like I wasn't even there! :)
 
I had great plans - to do a four or five hour hike in North Georgia today. But, the weather is not going to allow that, unless I am comfortable with dodging lightning bolts in the woods - which I am not.
 
As for Ham Radio... it's field day weekend. :)
This is the first time I've been on 40 CW in a few years.

My dad was W9***. He was an engineer for 17 years at Heath Co. there in St. Joseph.
He took us kids on several field days. We stayed up all night and drank lots of free sodas and ate lots of free icecream.
 
...I cannot relate to love songs much at all. lol
When I can, it's usually in terms of a fictional pairing I happen to ship.
