The Gullibility or Vainglory of the religious man.

Yes, it does have to be a calling from God first and foremost as the Holy Spirit distributes the gifts that are given and God sets up the leadership of His Church, 1 Corinthians 12. I agree not all need a license to teach the word, but some places like the state penitentiaries that I taught in required you were a licensed Pastor/Evangelist.
When I ministered at the Tennessee State Prison in Nashville's Death Row, I never needed a License. I actually ministered to a particular death row inmate and saw the Lord take him off of death row. A real conversion and born again believer experience that was similar to mine.

How is it that a religious man can redefine Scripture to narrate his OWN understanding and doctrines of what God has already made clear.
If I’m understanding Brother Douglas Summers correctly, he is basically saying there is one way; the narrow gate to the kingdom, and that regardless one’s religious education. John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress made such an example of those coming from the city of Vain-glory going to mount Zion having not entered through the narrow gate.

Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Gal 5:26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory,
What was the yoke of bondage we are warned of in Gal 5:1?

How is it that a religious man can redefine Scripture to narrate his OWN understanding and doctrines of what God has already made clear. Self will is the vanity of men to intrude into the sphere of divine authority (trespassing). God has a doctrine that is true and divine, and will be fulfilled just as he has planned it. But the religious, come hell or high water will declare their knowledge as final, even changing the clear Scripture to mean something else, ignoring completely the Truth because they are sure they are right..
Amen!
And that's how we got T.U.L.I.P. and Darbyism (Rapture/dispensations etc.) and the Prosperity Gospel and Cheap Grace and all the rest of the rather simple deviations from the Gospel of Christ.
People who struggled reading Fun With Dick and Jane in the 1st grade think they're qualified theologians and Th.D.s who need to write another book so they can get their names out there and appear relevant, make up some new interpretation. (like: "Feminist Liberation Theology" oi veh!)
