The Gun Thread

you dont get the post ?; have any Christians been killed(life cut short) in the past year that could have been saved or was there no way to save the Christians that have been killed this past year. by your post;; those 9 killed in a church a few weeks ago must not have believed or God would have saved them; is that right?

Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
(1Ti 2:4)

1Jn 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Is everyone saved "born again" Roro despite Jesus having paid for the sins of the whole world?

Isa 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

Luk 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith. But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
(2Th 3:2-3)

Is every Christian protected?

Just as the Word said Jesus died for the sins of the whole world, is also the same Word that said no weapon formed against you shall prosper. The Word already said your protected and your sins forgiven.

Both men heard the same Word. One believed and took heed, building his house on the rock the other guy also heard, but was not a doer of the word or took heed. He built his house on the sand. The flood came to both houses, but with different outcomes.

I can't say why those 9 people were shot, I don't know what they believed, don't know their obedience to the Lord don't know what went through their mind when the guy pulled the gun out. In the name of Jesus though faith in His name, it all would have stopped, that I do know.

Mike.

well I can not seem to get my point across so that you understand what I am saying I will leave it alone.

Hi Roro,
I understand what you're talking about. I agree with you. How about the Christians who have had their heads cut off?

I love Brother Mike in the Lord and have learned to leave him alone about this.
He has a lot of faith and his beliefs must be respected.
The only problem I have with this is that it makes one feel that their faith is not sufficient, as he himself points out.

It's OK. Jesus said all we need is the faith of a mustard seed. Whether or not the mountain gets moved is not important, what's important is that we one day meet up in heaven!

Let's just love each other as Jesus commanded.

Brother Mike is on the money with this.
Matthew: 10: 28-30
28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.

30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered./

You wouldn't want to thwart God's will would you? Keep your gun, but keep a proper perspective too.

It may not be in your Bible I found it here
Luke 22:35-36
35 And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.

36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
But why did he tell them that?
You have given no information here.
It is a pointless statement without an explanation.

Sadly, my mini walked away..:crying
My brother basically stole mine. He played middleman for a gun bundle I was selling for a grand even. My brother said he would pay me the grand and deliver the guns to his friend. the buyer. He wound up delivering the gun bundle minus the mini14. He ripped off 2 of us in one swoop. He kept the mini14 for himself.

QUOTE = wondering,

This is all I know about guns:

1. The old rifles had to have these little round balls put into them with gunfire after. It wasted a lot of time.
You're talking about black powder. The powder charge down the barrel first followed by placing a small lubricated (typically by mouth) cloth patch over the end of the barrel and then the steel ball which was pushed down the barrel to compress the charge. The earlier models also had a flash pan where a small amount of powder was placed and when the trigger was pulled, the hammer struck a flint to ignite the pan which in turn ignited the charge in the chamber of the barrel sending the ball on its way. It's actually kind of fun to shoot a flint-lock and takes a little more skill and steady hold because there's a time delay between the trigger squeeze and firing. The recoil is different too....more of a solid push than a sudden blast and lots of smoke.

2. Indians had to get rifles because they were better than arrows.
Yes, it was a necessity to close the gap in firepower during the wars they had with the white man. However, their lack of experience and sources of ammunition and repair parts kept them at a disadvantage.

3. a .22 ain't worth nothin'. In fact, it'll just get the guy madder at you.
This is a dangerous thing to think. Any firearm is potentially deadly and must be handled with extreme care and respect. Shot placement is the key with any weapon.

4. Clint Eastwood likes a Magnum (45?).
You're thinking of the Dirty Harry series and the weapon Callahan used was a .44 magnum revolver.

Wondering

Thank you Wondering. We need to humble ourselves. When people say........ It's evil to think a person did not get healed because of lack of faith. It's evil to say those Christians were beheaded because they did not trust God. We need to ask questions and we need to humble ourselves and find out why the scripture says no weapon formed against us shall prosper, yet Christians get beheaded.
It's not the time to draw back, not the time to make excuses, not the time to get hurt feelings over lack of faith. It's time to ask, How does that work? How can I always be protected and healed through everything that comes on my body.

I walk in the supernatural, what is now I call the normal life God wanted us to have. God always intended to walk with us and to bless us. The blessing He spoke over Adam, He spoke over Abraham saying be blessed, be fruitful and multiply. The blessing does not include a early death.

If something goes wrong in my life, something that does not line up with the Word. My first reaction is to not tolerate it. Believers tolerate far to much, for far to long. IF we will take the time to meditate on the Word, there is power in what God said to fix everything.

Psa_46:1 To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

God is help, right there when sudden things happen. Christians need to stop melting at weapons formed, they do get formed, but they can't prosper if we will have no fear, and speak the word only. Your mouth will speak what is the abundance inside. You can't change that if you don't wash the junk of the World out with the water of the Word.

Eph_1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

Paul prayed this for His people, there is great and exceeding power available to us all who will believe. What kind of power, how great, what is the depths of it? If someone speaks faith, I want to know what they know, how do spiritual laws work. Why are some protected and some not. it's our duty to understand God and the way things have been ordered.

Your mustard seed needs to grow btw. You need to start with the grain of the mustard seed, the Word of God. Then you need to take heed and put a measure to it.

It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth: But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.
(Mar 4:31-32)

That Mustard seed will grow up, but it is no measure of the word back being just a seed yet.

Blessings.
Mike.

Thanks Wondering,
I do respect him and I have no problem with Brother Mike because we see things a little different. I may have pushed a little to hard to get my point across. That is why I just dropped the conservation. Sometimes I go to far this may be one of those times. thanks

I guess I keep Exo 22:2 in close remembrance.
I believe one must protect himseIf and family. I can see you and Bother Mikes point; I do not exactly agree.
After a few post I just dropped the conversation.

Great information WIP.
I joked around about leaving this thread, but I've learned to so much!

Thanks.

That is my response to post #47.
Don't you see that you've explained nothing.
Hi Allen,
Do you believe Jesus didn't want us to protect ourselves?
Peter carried a sword. (it is assumed to have been Peter, but it was one of the 12)
Mathew 26:51

In Luke 22:36 Jesus tells the disciples that they are to sell a purse and buy a sword with the money.
I believe this is because Jesus had been travelling with them till that time, but now they must go out on their
own and would require some type of protection since thieves roamed the country and it was dangerous not
to be armed.

That was not the point of the story.
Jesus, in Luke 22 verse 36 says to buy a sword.
In verse 37 Jesus says he was numbered with the transgressors
and he says this must be fulfilled, and says "what is written about me is reaching it's fulfillment".
Two swords?
Jesus says that is enough.

By being with men who had swords, he was then numbered with the transgressors.
The swords were not needed for anything else.
Prophecy had to be fulfilled.
That's why 2 swords were plenty.

It has nothing to do with defending our selves.
What was Jesus dying on the cross for if not to defend us from all sin?
