THE HEART OF A PREACHER AND/OR A TEACHER

How many posters in CF.net consider themselves either a preacher and/or a teacher of the Word. Well, the reason i'm asking is because as Christians we must have the wisdom to know the difference between a teacher and a preacher of the Word. Both come directly from God, and when we become baptized in the spirit we may possess certain gifts. When someone is preaching, DO NOT become judgmental, defensive or take it personal. Just LISTEN to them. Listen to what they are saying, and we can learn together. It's ok to question things, and you can PM them if you have too. Some people in this world have a direct calling from God to preach and/or teach. They can't hear your response because all they hear is God's Word in their heart. Teaching has more of a lighter tone to it, less energy..more knowledge based.

Consider it a blessing that we have this kind of energy on CF.net
Consider it a blessing that we have preachers/teachers to share their heart with us.

yes it does teaching is a gift in its self.

It is an ancient dream that there exists an ultimate argument one can use, by which all opposing views will be silenced, once and for all.

Holding on to this dream tempts us to reason that the end justifies the means, that you should do evil that good may come.

You can win an argument and lose your integrity in a one fell swoop, and never notice something is wrong while thinking like this. The Spanish Inquisition serves as an extreme example.

Be wary of the desire to be seen to be right.

I've been told I'm a prophet but others think I'm not even a Christian.

From my brief observations I'd say you see some things quite well wayseer. I'd only say you have a taste of too much history in your understandings of scripture, and not to the good side. You should understand that Israel were called by some in antiquity, people of the Word. The Word of God, the Living Oracles, were 'handed' down through them from generation to generation, meticulously enforced and scribed.

Modern historians have not been kind in understanding to these matters nor has archeology. But that does not and should mitigate the legitimacy of the Word of the O.T. from which nearly all the N.T. was taught and stems from, nor does good Christian understanding base their own studies through those filters as they are inadequate tools. The oldest partial documents in existence today for example can only date back to 200-500 BCE and some can link to 800 BCE depending on what one reads of them. Some brief mentions however do link back considerably further. The further back, the more difficult hard evidence is to locate and verify.

Faith and hard evidence are not necessarily or necessary friends. Hard evidence miracles were performed in front of people eyes during the time of Christ and they still didn't believe. It will be no different today. History and archeology just become more blunt instruments to beat each others over the head with.

go figure.

I also would like to add Luke 6:22

Does anyone have any specific preachers/teachers they follow,
any that fit your life or personality. I did find one, he lives in NJ. His name is Jon.

I would consider myself more a T than a P, but when i start using CAPS LIKE THIS, it means that i am P, i'm still a baby in Christ so..oh man i have so much to learn. Is it safe to say teaching is more wisdom/story based from our own life experiences. Keep pressin' on...

Personally, I am not confident enough to consider myself a teacher, except when it comes to my kids. I am most certainly not a preacher, as I view that as someone who has been called and ordained in a specific denomination, regardless if they are currenly filling a pulpit.

I do have my convictions and will voice them from time to time, but do not consider myself a teacher.

you been told? if your called no body needs to tell you...why would others think your not a christian?

me personally, i am what He made me. i did not ask for it, i did not desire it, but He chose me before i was even born. i could not run from it, tried. Some are indeed predestined and there is nothing you can do about it either.

God chose Jonah to go to Nineveh, Jonah refused, he did not want to go to Nineveh. But he had no choice, he could not escape what God chose him to do. i am like Jonah. Most of my life running, not wanting to do what He called me to do. But i live it now, i am doing what He has called me to do, i can not escape it, and now i don't want to, i am His, for Him to do with as He wills.

i am what He made me.

I think I found two or three, but they disagree on many issues. This is somewhat destabilizing.

Until I have sufficient discernment I will just have to practise caution, especially when these contentious issues come up.
