Bible Study The Mind Of Christ

Soul man

Member
It is quite obvious that the mind of Christ cannot function by the knowledge of good and evil. A newly born again Christian has a new nature and an old mind.
Some changes are made in mind at salvation but the soul-mind goes relatively untouched concerning spiritual matters, by the birthing.
The change, or the proper way to say it is; the exchange was made in spirit. The new nature (Christ in you nature) only functions through grace knowledge.
So again it becomes quite obvious that the born-again believer needs to know all about our Father's grace.
This can only happen through a little word Paul refers to as "revelation."
It is by revelation that the believers mind can become compatible with the new "Christ in you" nature.
This is where the ministry of the Holy Spirit must take place.
He is the only one that can bring revelation and mind renewal to the born-again believer.
He is not your Father, He is not your savior and He is not your life, He is your teacher, He is the revealer of the Christ in you.
He is Soulish (in your soul) with one primary ministry in mind, that is to teach you the deep things of God, which is "Christ in you the hope of glory."
You cannot get any deeper in God than understanding and knowing by revelation that Christ is in you by a birthing, revealed to you, which is spirit taught knowledge (revelation) by the Holy Spirit.
As you may have experienced, serving God with your mind only can become a disaster.
Not to even speak of being in the dark about the things of God.
Another place, Paul uses the word "let" in referring to the mind of Christ, Phil. 2:5,
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ:

Another place, he uses the word "yield" which is a mind function, Romans 6:13,
13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Paul goes on to use the word "yield" several times in this chapter.

Ephesians 4:
22 that ye put away, as concerning your former manner of life, the old man, that waxeth corrupt after the lusts of deceit;
23 and that ye be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
24 and put on the new man, that after God hath been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.
I think this should cover what you are saying.......

And we know that our old man died with Christ. So that leaves the old way of thinking must be put away as well.

If we could only kill Self Indulgences more easily and inspire others to do so.

Colossians 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

The Holy Spirit will reveal to you those things from above that are Spiritual as the world can not understand Spiritual things.
