The Music of Devils in the CHURCH!!!

I suppose worshipping god is hard work. Doesn't have anything to do with happiness. Why should a church evolve with time? Hard dry wooden benches in a hot church (like from little house on the prairie!) are the only churches we need. I know I wouldn't mind taking a splinter to the butt for God.

Games? Couches? Comfy seating? Air conditioning? Snack stands? Buses? Gymnasiums? Electric Guitars? Sound equipment? Computers? Projectors? All falter in the dry hot boring church of God!

When I was a kid, I couldn't stand Church.. It was like I was being punished every Wednesday and Sunday. I don't even want to remember those times where some guy would come and preach from 6pm to 1am every night for a week right after school. That probably pushed me away from religion..

Now I see how most Christians can be spiteful hardheaded bigots.. only agreeing with one out of a million forms of their 6000 year old book, diluted through the ages by constant translations and alterations by man, sinful man, after every single city takeover.. every single cultural merge.. every defeated civilization. Yet they argue, ignore, and even hate the other denominations and religions because of 6000 years of speculation, like teenagers who visit the forum of their favorite scifi show only to speculate on what will happen next.

Maybe you're right. The spirit of God left my church a long time ago and left nothing but some hardheaded elderly bigots who refused to adapt because of their false interpretations of that 6000 year old book.

I don't quite grasp your intention here. Are you being sarcastic to make your point? Are you letting christian failings cause you to reject the message because the messenger (church) sucks?

You should come worship with me. Sit in the mountains listening to the birds, Drinking cold claen water from a stream on a hot day while you're sweaty from hiking. Feeling joy when two people so unlike stop to be kind to one another.

That is worship to me, the feeling and the happiness inside me and the awe I feel for the great power behind it all. You must understand, not all who call themselves christians really are. Just because the sign says church doesn't mean it is.

I'm against "Christian" rock, rap, etc. because they are trying to be like the world and constantly leave out even mentioning and praising the Lord in their music.
"that which is HIGHLY ESTEEMED among men is ABOMINATION in the sight of God". Luke 16:15
"know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a FRIEND of the world is the ENEMY of God." James 4:4
And many are trying to evangelize the lost with their music.
"For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of PREACHING to save them that believe." 1 Cor. 1:21
Christian music is supposed to be for the Lord.
Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a NEW SONG, and his praise in the congregation of saints. Psalm 149:1

Luke 16: 14-15: "And the Pharisees who loved money, heard all these things and sneered at him. And he said to them, "you justify yourselves in the sight of others, but God knows your hearts; for what is of human esteem is an abomination in the sight of god."

I don't see how Luke 16:15 can apply to Christian Rock. I looked up the passage, and it was about Wealth. It was Jesus talking down to the Pharisee's because they put so much faith in their money, that they forgot about serving god. Plus, by this logic, none of us should be on this website, as we probably are using a computer to access this website. Does that mean their an abomination to God, as they are highly esteemed in man? This actually supports Christian Rock, as God looks towards your hearts. I've seen more worship in Rock Music than I have seen in hymns. And you know what Jesus says about lukewarmness.

James 4:4 is about downtalking others, and telling lies to prove your point. Sorry to say this Nick, but your making friends with the world as your making an assumption without even looking into it. Also, a lot of hymns do not specifically mention Jesus or God as well. Please do not make any assumptions.

Your quote from Corinthians seems to be more King James based than anything. My bible says to reach out to other lost souls. It's a proclamation. It says nothing about only preaching.

Guys, prooftexting is a very bad bible technique. I could use the bible to support prostitution and a various other number of crimes, but I'm not going to do so. If your gonna use passages to support claims, use the entire one, not just one line out of the bible.
