I actually think that Vegas is a great destination (if you can avoid the casinos) because there is such a wide variety of hotel accommodation available, there is much mountain scenery around, incl. the Hoover Dam, and there are lots of good value flights. (Two cents').
I stay away from Vegas like the plague.Sin city is not place I would like to visit.I have been there years ago.

@ Kathi So you also think it's okay to laugh at racist jokes just because they my be funny?
Do you not care that you're hurting people? And I don't mean me pesonally. By condoning jokes th. at ridicule women you are embracing a culture that brings inequalty and emotional violence (plus some actual violence in certain cases) to women and to some degree to men as well. Jokes about beauty products may seem harmless, but they are part of those cultural structures.

Have you ever watched the TV show The Simpsons?

I used to watch it years ago.In my profession I have met several of Matt Groenings family members. His mother's name is Margaret(Marg) and she is very sweet.

I take your point about things to avoid there; although there are some great flight deals there, plenty of hotels and lots of mountain scenery...

I guess Claudya isn't following this thread any more. Too bad she got offended by some of the pictures and comments here, and I'm sorry one of them was mine. But I had a question for her, and maybe someone else can answer it. In the TV show The Simpsons, all the male characters are stupid, clumsy, selfish or gullible (or some combination of those traits), while the female characters are intelligent, compassionate and wise. Even baby Maggie Simpson is smarter than her dad. Why is it that nobody complains about that show being sexist?

Yes I am still following this thread.
Sorry for my response, but I really feel threatened by all those stereotypes about women. Usually women get stereotyped in a way that makes them appear irrational and weak and thus not to be taken seriously. In a similar way there are stereotypes about blacks being totally in love with watermelons, thus making them look simple minded and irresponsible. Portraying women as shopping-crazy, obsessed with beauty products/ clothing/ shoes or overly emotional does exactly the same: it serves the conservation of a gender hierarchy by making women look too irrational and childish to be equals and incapable of holding responsibility.
I'm pretty certain an image about African Americans and water melons wouldn't be tolerated here because it's racist. So tolerating images about women being being irrational (e.g. not knowing what they want when shopping) seems like a double standard.

I never noticed The Simsons being biased against men, I thought Bart Simpson was portrayed as quite a clever guy (although he's bad at school, but he's smart on all other areas, and so is his best friend). Lisa Simpson may be an over achiever, but she's also quite narcissistic about it, and socially incompetent. Marge is rather gullible herself. Many of the other female characters are no less stupid or clumsy than the males. So the bias you speak of never appeared to me. Anyway, I haven't watched it in a long time.. if what you say is true and most or all men in that show is biased like that then I agree it's sexist.

Huh? By what "most things" am I offended?

Compared to other people I'm rather hard to offend. In real life oftentimes people are offended by my jokes.
You probably got a very unbalanced view of me. Which is unsurprising, admittedly, because I'm going to a hard time at the moment and may respond more negatively than I usually would.

The truth is, I am young and idealistic, I want to make my life count and do all I can to turn the world into a better place for others, for myself, for the children that I will hopefully have some day and for the generations to come after us. Thus it's my purpose to fight those things that harm people. Stereotypisation of people according to their belonging to a group they didn't choose does harm people. That's not offended-ness, it's following my calling.

Anyway, other than ad hominem attacks on my person I didn't get any argumentative response from you. I am tempted to assume you have no arguments.
