The Official Christmas thread

I can post pics, but I wont , of soldiers of the female persuasion that aren't as attractive but can handle the business end of an m16

Who cares about looks? That is shallow.
there are articles about that from female soldiers who don't like how the army advertises those that serve as females in uniform as being attractive. I believe that article said models are used.

Oh how I love a nice, one foot deep snowfall before Christmas. Then I don't have to see those 10 foot high snowmen or Santas in people's yards because they were buried under the snow when the fans were off. :hysterical

lol, I have no problem with female soldiers but if they are made to work in infantry and the standard is march with 90 lbs on their backs and they cant. then they cant. but the army will over look that rule and lower the bar for them and not for me. a female soldier can score higher then me on the pt test but does less to get to score then I would on some events. mainly the run and the push ups

It must be carrot season right?. Don't people use carrots for snowmen noses?. I dont live in or near the snow or have ever made a snowman. I have been the snow like 2 times in my life.

Yeah, don't worry. I have 2 young Nephews living in Florida and rarely seen snow themselves. But those of us who have it get so sick of it because they expect you to drive thru it to get to work (or else face discipline) and then after almost killing yourself to get there preach about on the job safety. :rolleyes

The stuff if nice to look at coming down for about 1/2 an hour. That is all I want.

Just take the day off work and make a snowman, then take a photo of it and email it to your boss with a note ' I quit'.

The only sight of snow I like?

On a lovely, well-intentioned picture postcard!
It is peaceful to watch but if I am snuggled up with a fire in the fireplace with a good book, plenty of food in the house and no where to go I am ok with that. When it melts it is slushy and ugly.

I've had to experience tooooooo much of it during my lifetime. I'm done. Now...if only I could find somewhere warm & snowless, without lots of deadly snakes.............

Oh boy you do get a lot of snow where you live.Deadly snakes?Have you encountered any?

Illinois can get a lot of snow. We're currently on that cycle where the winters are nastier.

Snakes? Let's see..... rattlesnakes, water moccasins....there are several types of venomous snakes around. It's always good to be cautious when hiking in state parks or the countryside.

We have rattlesnakes.I once found a garter snake in my garage.I freaked out :lol

At my previous home, I had a raised herb bed which garter snakes decided made a great home. My kids "adopted" a baby garter snake one summer, but it was kept outdoors. No indoor snakes for my household!

Another summer, one adult garter snake became rather aggressive. It wasn't leery of me at all. So I basically reminded it that it was a guest in the garden, and if it couldn't behave, then in Jesus's precious name, it would have to leave. Didn't have a problem with the snake after that.
