Here is the wonderful writing of Bob Hoekstra on Eternal Life that blessed my heart and thought you all might be blessed as well....

More on the Promise of Eternal Life
And this is the promise that He has promised us — eternal life . . . And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. (1John 2:25 and 1John 5:11)
We previously referred to the promise of eternal life as "the promise of all promises" (regarding its impact upon man). Thus, we will give it additional attention. We saw that eternal life (everlasting life) has both a quantitative aspect (lasting forever) and a qualitative aspect (growing in fullness). Also, eternal life is a gift of God's grace, which is received in humble faith. There are other distinctives of eternal life that are very edifying to contemplate.
The gift of eternal life is to be possessed now, not just awaiting us in eternity. "He who believes in the Son has everlasting life . . . Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life . . . Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life" (John 3:36; John 5:24; John 6:47). Those who have placed their faith in the Lord Jesus already have eternal life here on earth. Furthermore, that reality can be embraced with assurance. "And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God" (1John 5:11-13). Eternal life is innate to Jesus Christ. "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live . . . I am the way, the truth, and the life" (John 11:25; John 14:6). He is the life. All who have trusted in the Lord Jesus have Him dwelling in their lives. Therefore, they are assured of having eternal life.
In addition to granting us assurance, these verses emphasize the most profound aspect of eternal life. The realities of that life are all related to Jesus. "I am the resurrection and the life . . . I am the way, the truth, and the life . . . God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son" (John 11:25; John 14:6). In order to grow on that life, one must only pursue a growing relationship with the one who has the life. "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent . . . but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (John 17:3 and 2Peter 3:18).
Dear Lord, I rejoice that Christ dwells within my life. Therefore, with full assurance I know that eternal life is my present possession. Now, I desire to grow in the fullness of that life, so I set my heart to know You better. Please reveal Yourself to me more and more through Your holy word, Amen.

The bold highlights are my doing to draw attention to what blessed me.

Thank you old friend. I'm glad that you liked this wonderful writing. O so true!! We are so blessed that the God Who created the universe, that He would want a worm such as I to be His Child. I can see why He'd want you, but me?? O my, I've grieved Him so much over the years, and He still loves me and calls me His Child.

I knew that all along. :crying

Isn't it amazing how the Lord can make us all feel like we are His favorite?

His love is so amazing.

I remember when my boys [3] were growing up, and one would ask why the other would get a certain thing or get to do a certain thing, and he didn't... I would simply reply with a smile: because he's my favorite.

Then we would all just laugh and laugh.

I did this throughout the years, and all three heard this about themselves many times and knew they were all my favorite.

I did this to guard them against rejection, so the enemy would work on their little minds to make them feel one was loved more than the other.

I can assure you Chopper: YOU ARE HIS FAVORITE.

Thanks Buddy. I do the same thing with my Grandchildren. They are all grown up and in their twenties and every time I go to Maine to visit they'll all come to my Daughter and Son in law's home and when I greet each one, I'll say, O you are my favorite Granddaughter or Grandson. That always get a good laugh and they sure are special. All Believers in Christ Jesus.

Genesis 6:6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. 7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. 8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

By such faith in that of Noah with all the evil that was going on around him he alone found favor in the Lord. Now with that continued evil in the world God sees those who have a pure heart for Him and has already promised that whosoever believeth in Him have eternal life, John 3:16. All Gods promises are yea and amen, 2Corinthians 1:20.

:pray Thank you Lord for your longsuffering and patience that we can come to repentance by your grace, 2Peter 3:9; Ephesians 2:8.
