Bible Study The Strong Delusion

What have you considered in your heart.

Isaiah 44:6:17
Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel,
and his redeemer the Lord of hosts;
I am the first, and I am the last;
and beside me there is no God.
And who, as I, shall call,
and shall declare it, and set it in order for me,
since I appointed the ancient people?
and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them.
Fear ye not, neither be afraid:
have not I told thee from that time,
and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses.
Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.
They that make a graven image are all of them vanity;
and their delectable things shall not profit;
and they are their own witnesses;
they see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed.
Who hath formed a god, or molten a graven image
that is profitable for nothing?
Behold, all his fellows shall be ashamed:
and the workmen, they are of men:
let them all be gathered together, let them stand up;
yet they shall fear, and they shall be ashamed together.
The smith with the tongs both worketh in the coals,
and fashioneth it with hammers,
and worketh it with the strength of his arms:
yea, he is hungry, and his strength faileth:
he drinketh no water, and is faint.
The carpenter stretcheth out his rule; he marketh it out with a line;
he fitteth it with planes, and he marketh it out with the compass,
and maketh it after the figure of a man,
according to the beauty of a man; that it may remain in the house.
He heweth him down cedars, and taketh the cypress and the oak,
which he strengtheneth for himself among the trees of the forest:
he planteth an ash, and the rain doth nourish it.
Then shall it be for a man to burn:
for he will take thereof, and warm himself;
yea, he kindleth it, and baketh bread;
yea, he maketh a god, and worshippeth it;
he maketh it a graven image, and falleth down thereto.
He burneth part thereof in the fire;
with part thereof he eateth flesh;
he roasteth roast, and is satisfied:
yea, he warmeth himself, and saith, Aha,
I am warm, I have seen the fire:
And the residue thereof he maketh a god, even his graven image:
he falleth down unto it, and worshippeth it,
and prayeth unto it, and saith, Deliver me; for thou art my god.

Isaiah 44:18-19
They have not known nor understood:
for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see;
and their hearts, that they cannot understand.
And none considereth in his heart,
neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say,

I have burned part of it in the fire;
yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof;
I have roasted flesh, and eaten it:
and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination?
shall I fall down to the stock of a tree?

What have you considered in your heart? Can throw off the doctrines and tradition of men and look at the Man of Sin in a different light. Have you considered in your heart that you are the Man of Sin that you are looking for?

Here are some important things we can learn from reading these verse's.

The resurrection/Rapture is one event.
All those who are Christ's, are caught up together, at His coming, so no one is left behind.
The antichrist is destroyed by the coming of the Lord, the same coming by which the resurrection and rapture occurs.

Once a person reads and understands these things, then it becomes obvious that Jesus comes at the end of the age, on the last Day, to gather His people and destroy the wicked.

  • No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:44
  • For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 1 Thessalonians 4:16
  • And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. 2 Thessalonians 2:8
  • Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:17

The resurrection of the dead in Christ happens first, then a moment later the Rapture,on the last Day, in which all those who are His will be caught up together, in the air, then the destruction of the antichrist, and wicked will commence.

This post you quoted was not to you.

I answered your question in post # 94.

Here it is again -

These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.” Revelation 17:4

Who does the Lord of lords, King of kings, and the Lamb refer to?

In this passage of scripture, there is three different designations that refer to one person, though His Name is not mentioned.
  • Lord of lords
  • King of kings
  • the Lamb
The three designations refer to the Christ.

Added: In the plain words of scripture these are references to the Christ

Likewise in 2 Thessalonians 2:3-8, there is three different designations describing one person, even though His identity is not mentioned, because he will be revealed in "his own time".

  • man of sin
  • son of perdition
  • lawless one
These three destinations refer to the antichrist.

Added: In the plain words of scripture, these three designations refer to the antichrist.

3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. 5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6 And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. 2 Thessalonians 2:3-8

Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. 1 John 2:18

Does this scripture plainly refer to Christ?

Are you willing to honestly answer this question?

Does this scripture plainly refer to Christ?

These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.” Revelation 17:4

They refer to the antichrist, who is also called:

The man of sin
the son of perdition
the lawless one

Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. 1 John 2:18

If you believe he has already come and been revealed, then please tell us his name, since this scripture says he will be revealed in "his own time".

  • And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. 2 Thessalonians 2:6

If you believe it is past, then he has been revealed, and has been destroyed by the brightness of the Lord's coming, which would also be past, if that's what you believe?

Thanks Douglas, I agree with what you have said for the most part. You said the delusion in Isaiah is to those who reject the Lord's will but worshiped their own ways. I can not disagree with that. But what I can do is expand on it. What is the Lord's will? Is it not that we shall walk by faith? Those whose try and walk after the law have in effect rejected the Grace of the Lord, and have reject his will that we walk by FAITH. In 2 Thes 2, the man of sin is revealed after there comes a falling away first. This falling away is a falling away from the Grace of the Lord through FAITH, and returning to the works of the law of sin for justification.

The delusion spoken of in Isaiah says he shall bring their fears upon them. Their fears come from the law and the threat of God's wrath and judgement. Romans 1 explains how the wrath of God is revealed. Except if you are in Christ, you are not under God's wrath. The body is dead because of sin, yet lives by the Spirit of Christ. Paul said I die daily. So even though we walk by Faith, the knowledge of sin maintains a healthy fear. But, the Man of Sin in Thessalonians seems to not have this fear of the law, but seems rather emboldened by it. For the man of sin acts as if he has no sin, yet sit in the seat of Moses judging others by the works of the law.

Before I make any other comment, we must first come to an agreement as to the worship of Satan. You see, I do not hold to the common idea that Satan worshipers are dope smoking heavy metal music listening stereotype. No, that is just people who worship their own idea of god, but that is not Satan worship. Satan worship is much different. Satan worship involves holding the righteousness that comes by the law over the knowledge of God's Righteousness. As Revelations states, those who say they are Jews, but are of the synagogue of Satan.

As to delusion, I believe it can play out in a multitude of way.

Is there a delusion among those who have been set free from the law of sin and death through Christ, yet find themselves continually repenting of sin? Is not repenting from sin a work under the law? Are we to continue to repent of DEAD WORKS? Or does continuing to repent of dead works demonstrate an obedience to the law and a lack of Faith in the one time sacrifice of Christ?
This would be an informative discussion, but much gets lost without a formal in classroom discussion. When I said they worshiped Satan, I meant in the context that Christ stated, (John 8:44) "Satan is your father".

...by which we know that it is the last hour...

Sometime within the last couple years, A youboob Pastor was preaching and recounted a visitation from Jesus that he had, and he said that while He was there that Jesus made the statement to him that (spread the word quickly to repent, etc., because) we are in the last hour and He is coming soon, He's at the door.

So I did the math and a day is 1000 years to the Lord, so that would mean that we're in the last 41 years. So prolly by the early 2050's He'll be here. Something like that. That's actually encouraging in a way. A lot of souls could be saved in 40 years.

I'm not trying to be a date setter, but I do like to know the season. Your scripture made me think about it.

2Pe_3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Reading this scripture could it be 41,000 ..years

To me this verse is talking about how God is outside of 'our' time..

To me this verse is reminding me that time is short.

I saw a Pastor do a real good illustration of how God is outside our time domain. He motioned around indicating the big room that they were in and likening it to being eternity, where God dwells. Then one day He spoke and bang the entire universe with all galaxies, planets, solar systems, everything came into being, and he held up a water bottle to illustrate our universe, in eternity, but contained within the bottle.

Outside the bottle is outside time. It's everywhere around us, and as close as your hand. We're inside there somewhere. We can't see much from inside the bottle, but He can. I liked that illustration. It makes it easy to imagine how He could, say...take John out of the bottle and up towards an end of the bottle to see some things, then took him back. How God can see the beginning from the end and vs vs...

To me this teaches us that the Day of rest, the Sabbath that the weekly Sabbath points to, is 1000 years, when we reign with Him when He returns.

And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. Revelation 20:4

I took me some time to see your case.

This passage speaks strongly to me. My manic break was concerned with the end times and so was my most recent one. I am strongly under the impression that we are in the end of days, and this passage explains why I was hit so hard. I thought it was mental illness, but perhaps it was a strong delusion. Even when I was a child I was terrified of Revelations. Now I know why. I have been in the end times all along. This explains so much. Thanks for posting it.
