Can Third Temple be built without destroying Dome of the Rock?
By MATTHEW WAGNER - http://www.jpost.com

A new Jewish interfaith initiative launched last week argues building the Third Jewish Temple in Jerusalem would not necessitate the destruction of the Dome of the Rock.

"God's Holy Mountain Vision" project hopes to defuse religious strife by showing that Jews' end-of-days vision could harmoniously accommodate Islam's present architectural hegemony on the Temple Mount.

"This vision of religious shrines in peaceful proximity can transform the Temple Mount from a place of contention to its original sacred role as a place of worship shared by Jews, Muslims and Christians," said Yoav Frankel, director of the initiative.

The Interfaith Encounter Association at the Mishkenot Sha'ananim's Konrad Adenauer Conference Center in Jerusalem is sponsoring the program, which includes interfaith study and other educational projects.

According to Islamic tradition, the Dome of the Rock, built in 691, marks the spot where Muhammed ascended to Heaven.

But according to Jewish tradition, Mount Moriah, now under the Dome of the Rock, is where the Temple's Holy of Holies was situated.

Until now Jewish tradition has assumed that destruction of the Dome of the Rock was a precondition for the building of the third and last Temple.

However, in an article that appeared in 2007 in Tehumin, an influential journal of Jewish law, Frankel, a young scholar, presented a different option.

His main argument is that Jewish doctrine regarding the rebuilding of the Temple emphasizes the role of a prophet.

This prophet would have extraordinary authority, including the discretion to specify the Temple's precise location, regardless of any diverging Jewish traditions.

Frankel considers the scenario of a holy revelation given to an authentic prophet that the Temple be rebuilt on the current or an extended Temple Mount in peaceful proximity to the dome and other houses of prayer such as the Aksa Mosque and nearby Christian shrines.

However, both Muslims and Jews have expressed opposition to the initiative.

Sheikh Abdulla Nimar Darwish, founder of the Islamic Movement in Israel, said it was pointless to talk about what would happen when the mahdi, the Muslim equivalent of the messiah, would reveal himself.

"Why are we taking upon ourselves the responsibility to decide such things?" Darwish said in a telephone interview with The Jerusalem Post. "Even Jews believe that it is prohibited to rebuild the Temple until the messiah comes. So what is there to talk about.

"The mahdi will decide whether or not to rebuild the Temple. If he decides that it should be rebuilt, I will go out to the Temple Mount and help carry the rocks."

Darwish warned against any attempt to rebuild the Temple before the coming of the mahdi.

"As long as there is a Muslim alive, no Jewish Temple will be built on Al-Haram Al-Sharif [the Temple Mount]. The status quo must be maintained, otherwise there will be bloodshed."

In contrast, Baruch Ben-Yosef, chairman of the Movement to Restore the Temple, made it clear that the Temple had to be built where the Dome of the Rock presently stands.

"Anybody who says anything else simply does not know what he is talking about," he said. "A prophet does not have the power to change the law which explicitly states the location of the Temple."

Ben-Yosef also rejected the idea that rebuilding of the Temple had to be done by a prophet.

"All you need is a Sanhedrin," he said.

Mainstream Orthodox rabbis have opposed attempts to rebuild the Temple since the Mount came under Israeli control in 1967.

The Chief Rabbinate of Israel even issued a decree prohibiting Jews from entering the area due to ritual purity issues.

However, several grassroots organizations such as the Movement to Restore the Temple, and maverick rabbis, including Rabbi Israel Ariel, head of the capital's Temple Institute and a leading member of the revived Sanhedrin led by Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz, have called to take steps to renew the sacrifices on the Temple Mount and rebuild the Temple.

========================================

Israel will rebuild the third Temple. Why is this so important to fulfil End-Times prophecy??

Bible Prophecy states that in the last days the Jewish third temple in Jerusalem will be rebuilt and that it will play a important role in the tribulation time.

When the third temple is built the anti-christ will invade the temple and declare himself god.

The Anti-Christ will then cause an overspreading of abomination which in the New Testament is revealed to be the Anti-Christ ceasing the Jewish animal sacrifices and Temple worship and installing himself in the temple probably in the holy place and presenting himself as God and constraining all people Jews and people of the nations (Gentiles) to worship him.

This scripture in Daniel 9 is a as follows:

And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. Daniel 9:27

Please refrence the Chapter & Verse of this Bible Prophesy that States "in the last days the Jewish third temple in Jerusalem will be rebuilt".

So what will you make of this article then ? If the Temple was built what would you call it? Is this another coincidence. I am starting to make a list of them now. Please answer this question.

He will confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven.' In the middle of the 'seven' he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing of the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him" (Daniel 9:27).

In the middle of this last seven years an event called the ‘abomination that causes desolation’ will be set up on the wing of the temple. This prophecy is in reference to a future seven-year period called Daniel's 70th 'seven'. Therefore, by the middle of this last seven-years a Jewish Temple will exist on the Temple Mount.

Both Jesus and the Apostle Paul confirmed this when referring to the event known as ‘the abomination that causes desolation’ in their prophecies about the Second Coming.

So when you see the Antichrit standing in the holy place 'the abomination that causes desolation,' spoken of through the prophet Daniel - (Matthew 24:15)

When you see 'the abomination that causes desolation' standing where it does not belong - (Mark 13:14)

In these two verses above, Jesus refers to the ‘abomination that causes desolation' which the prophet Daniel said would take place in relation to the temple. Below, Paul describes the ‘abomination that causes desolation’ when he says the Antichrist will go into the Jewish Temple and proclaim himself to be God.

The main events of the last seven-years start with the Antichrist confirming a covenant with many. After 3 ½ years the Antichrist will stop the sacrifice and offering in the temple declaring that he is God. This proclamation by the Antichrist will likely create a huge rebellion among the Jews and the rest of the world.

Some will accept him but many will not. Those that do not worship the Antichrist will be persecuted and slaughtered. The Bible refers to time as the Great Tribulation. Read how Isaiah described temple worship which will lead up to the 'abomination that causes desolation' of Tribulation.

As a Christian, how could you believe that any new temple would not be desolate from the very beginning of its construction? :confused

Sinthesis the king of one liners how are you?

Are you having a problem with Daniel 9:27 ? Did I say something wrong here.

Lu:13:35: Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

The words Jesus spoke on Palm Sunday, when he came to the Temple, and no one was there to greet him. So the Temple itself would constitute a desolation, and would be an abomination. :yes

New Initiative Would Build Temple Next to Dome of the Rock

By Chuck Missler

June 24th 2009

http://bible-prophecy-today.blogspot.co ... -next.html

An Israeli official made a visit to the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem on Tuesday, sparking anger among Muslims. Yet, while the Dome of the Rock is the third most holy site in Islam, it is the holiest spot on earth in Judaism as the site of the once and future Temple. Most recently, a Jewish scholar has argued that the Third Temple could be built on the Temple Mount without tearing down the Dome of the Rock. Of course, that idea has faced opposition from both Jews and Muslims.

"God's Holy Mountain Vision" project was launched last week, a new Jewish initiative to build the Third Temple on the Temple Mount beside the Dome of the Rock without tearing it down. Director of the initiative Yoav Frankel argues that a prophet could, by divine revelation, determine the precise site of the Temple and could have it rebuilt without the need to destroy the Muslim shrine.

"This vision of religious shrines in peaceful proximity can transform the Temple Mount from a place of contention to its original sacred role as a place of worship shared by Jews, Muslims and Christians," said Frankel.

Of course, both Jews and Muslims oppose the proposal. Many Jews do not believe that the Temple should be built until the Messiah comes. Muslims agree that no Jewish temple should be built near their shrine.

Sheikh Abdulla Nimar Darwish, founder of the Islamic Movement in Israel, argues that it's pointless to discuss rebuilding the Temple until the "mahdi" – the Muslim messiah comes.
"Why are we taking upon ourselves the responsibility to decide such things?" Darwish said in a telephone interview with The Jerusalem Post. "Even Jews believe that it is prohibited to rebuild the Temple until the messiah comes. So what is there to talk about."
Darwish warned that attempts to rebuild the Temple before the Messiah would only result in mayhem.
"As long as there is a Muslim alive, no Jewish Temple will be built on Al-Haram Al-Sharif. The status quo must be maintained, otherwise there will be bloodshed."

The Dome of the Rock, which dominates the skyline of Jerusalem, was erected on the Temple Mount in the late 7th century. Muslims believe that the dome is built over the spot where Mohammad ascended into heaven, making it a very holy site in Islam. In 1967 Israel regained control of the Temple Mount, but shortly after gave the Muslim Waqf (religious trust) the authority to manage the mount in order to keep peace. Since 2006, visitors have been allowed to enter the compound at restricted times. Non-Muslim worshipers are still not permitted to enter the area.

Jewish authorities do not approve of entering the compound anyway, primarily because the site of the ancient Temple is still holy and there is no purification system in place to make worshipers ritually clean. There is also concern that people might accidentally tread across the site of the Holy of Holies. The Chief Rabbinate of Israel has placed signs outside the Temple Mount that state in Hebrew and English:

"ANNOUNCEMENT AND WARNING: According to the Torah it is forbidden for any person to enter the area of the Temple Mount due to its sacredness."

On Tuesday June 23, Internal Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch visited the Temple Mount to review how police would deploy in case of an emergency. Aharonovitch's spokesman said that the visit was coordinated with the Waqf, who accompanied the minister around the site. However, a visit by Ariel Sharon in 2000 sparked the bloody Al-Aqsa Intifada, and the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Mohammed Hussein, called Aharonovitch's recent visit, "an assault on an Islamic place."

When a simple visit by an Israeli official causes violent anger among Muslims, the possibility of another Jewish Temple seems impossible. Still, the Bible speaks of a future Temple, one that stands in Jerusalem when the Man of Sin arrives to sit in the Temple and pretend to be God (2 Thess 2:3-4). For nearly 2000 years, the Jews have been without a Temple, and they long for its presence once again in Jerusalem. Despite the current existence of the Dome of the Rock, members of the Temple Mount Faithful movement have been preparing the necessary articles and priests necessary to resume ritual worship.

According to the Bible, both in the Old Testament and the New, the Temple will be rebuilt. The question is just when.

by Chuck Missler

The destruction of the Temple by the Romans in a.d. 70 was a tremendous tragedy for the Jews, and for two millennia its loss has been deeply mourned. After centuries of foreign occupation, Israel became a nation again in 1948, then as a result of the Six-Day War in 1967, Israel again gained control of the holy city of Jerusalem.

While the Dome of the Rock, a Muslim shrine, now sits on the Temple Mount, religious Jews dream about the day they will rebuild their beloved Temple on the site where it once housed the very presence of God.

In today’s polarized world, it seems everything and anything having to do with the Temple Mount causes controversy. When Israel opened a tunnel alongside the compound in 1996, it sparked clashes that killed 80 people. In 2000, before being elected Israel’s Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon visited the Temple Mount. His visit provoked riots among Israel’s Arab population and is seen as one of several key events that triggered the start of the second Intifada (Arab word for “uprisingâ€Â).

Recent activity near the Temple Mount has once again sparked debate. On February 4th, renovations began on the ramp which leads from the paved area in front of the Western Wall to the Temple Mount’s Rambam (Mughrabi) Gate. The ramp is part of an earthen embankment and was damaged by an earthquake and the winter storms of 2004, and is currently in danger of collapse.

The Israeli Antiquities Authority is undertaking rescue excavations before implementing plans for constructing a new bridge to replace the old one. (Muslim clerics have also agreed that the ramp must be renovated because it is dangerous. They object, however, to Israel’s carrying out the renovations.) The ramp is not part of the Temple Mount and is located outside its boundaries.

This project has prompted immediate protests from Palestinians. Some 2,000 police officers were deployed to the Old City of Jerusalem to maintain order. Some Arab leaders have accused Israel of trying to provoke a conflict, falsely claiming that the construction work is an Israeli attempt to destroy the Al-Aqsa mosque and “to make Jerusalem Jewish,†while others have threatened that if the work continues it could trigger a third Intifada.

Any archaeological discoveries that appear to substantiate the Biblical account of history undermine the Palestinian cause. This explains why Waqf (Islamic Trust) officials bulldoze sensitive archaeological sites on the Temple Mount with blatant disregard for the treasures buried there.

Digging Up the Truth

Israeli archaeologists and volunteers have sifted through the piles of ruins discarded by Waqf officialsâ€â€rubble taken from the Temple Mount to a city garbage dump. Amidst the rubble they have uncovered numerous history-rich artifacts dating back to the First and Second Temple periods.

The oldest archaeological evidence of Jerusalem’s history dates back to the Early Bronze Age (circa 3000 b.c.). With very little exception, the Jewish People have had a continual presence in the city since King David made it his capital 3,000 years ago. This religious and historical connection has fueled the modern Jewish Zionist movement. Throughout the centuries, Jews have dreamed of returning to Jerusalem and have never ceased to mourn the destruction of the ancient city. Days of fasting, marking the destruction of the First and Second Temples, are an integral part of the Jewish calendar.

Such discoveries underscore Israel’s long and rich history in the Promised Land. It is a legacy that Israel’s enemies would like to erase. They claim that the idea of a historical Jewish homeland is a hoaxâ€â€invented to justify Israel’s occupation of Palestine. Yet with each passing year, more new discoveries are made which corroborate Jewish claims to the Holy Land.

In 2005, while excavating in the ancient City of David, archaeologists uncovered various Byzantine-era artifacts, including a well-preserved room with mosaic floors. The floors were found about two meters below ground level and date back between the 4th and 6th century a.d. Beneath this room, water cisterns, pools and a purification bath from the Second Temple period were next uncovered. Below the pools, workers discovered the ruins of an immense 3,000-year-old stone structure.

Inside this building, archaeologists found pieces of pottery dating back to the 10th century b.c., to the days of David and Solomon. They also uncovered a bulla, or ancient government seal, belonging to Jehucal, son of Shelemiah, son of Shevi. This government official is mentioned twice in the book of Jeremiah. This discovery has sparked debate, because some archaeologists believe the ancient building could be the palace of King David as described by Samuel. According to the Biblical account, the structure was built by Hiram king of Tyre after David conquered Jerusalem.

In March 2006, archaeologists uncovered underground chambers and tunnels used during a Jewish revolt against the Romans nearly 2,000 years ago. They also found the remains of a Jewish city from the 10th and 9th centuries b.c.

Meanwhile, excavation continues on the Biblical Pool of Siloam, which was discovered by workers repairing a sewage pipe in the old city of Jerusalem. In the 8th century b.c., King Hezekiah built a 1,750-foot-long tunnel under the ridge where the City of David was located. Hezekiah’s tunnel was built in order to protect the water supply should the Assyrians lay siege to Jerusalem. The first Pool of Siloam was the reservoir holding the water brought into the city by the tunnel. It presumably was destroyed in 586 b.c. when the Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar razed the city. The pool currently being excavated is believed to be the pool of Jesus’ time. It was built early in the first century b.c. and was destroyed by the Roman emperor Titus in about a.d. 70. The Gospel of John describes an incident in which Jesus cures a blind man at the Pool of Siloam.

Our faith in Jesus Christ and in the accuracy of the Scriptures is not dependent upon archaeological finds. However it is exciting to watch as these ancient treasures are uncovered, as they do attest to the authenticity of the Biblical record. To learn more about Biblical archaeology, check out our briefing, Digging Up the Truth.

NBF, you made a VERY SPECIFIC claim that the Bible prophesies that a third temple will be rebuilt, and when asked to produce said prophesy, chapter and verse, you can not.

Doesn't that bother you?

antichrist is not mentioned in Matt 24:15. not at all.
you are adding to the words of scripture here.
Do you do that often?

Again I'll ask, please use the Biblle's EXPLICIT teaching on antichrist found in 1 & 2 John ONLY, to demonstrate how the Bible teaches you to apply the term to the AoD or the MoS or whatever your fanciful imagination wants.

If it is so plain as you say, why do you "avoid like the plague" that actual bibllical teaching on antichrist to promote your views?

So when you see the Antichrit standing in the holy place 'the abomination that causes desolation,' spoken of through the prophet Daniel - (Matthew 24:15)

But aren't Muslims antichrist?, They deny Jesus as the Son of God, so they are standing in the Holy place NOW.

I'm not avoiding anything and my views are the same as about a billion other Christians friend. I always do my best to quote scripture why do you keep saying I am backing down.

Daniel 9:27, 2Thessalonians 2: 1-4, Revalation 11:2, Matthew 24:15,16, 21, 22, 29-31 are my reference to the Temple.

Your problem is that when you come on to the Internet to debate scripture, it's not a debate at all, it's a contest or challenge where your looking for stars or something. Don't get me wrong I dig it. It's an interesting way to spend retirement despite the fact I find it self serving and not serving to God. Despite many find your views the doctrine of Satan. Is it a contest of who knows more scripture the best or would you like to explain your position.

Who is it the that will enter into the temple then and declare himself God?

Who is "he"

And "he" shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. Daniel 9:27

In the modern day application:

While Israel is being pushed to allow a Palestinian state, this third Jewish Temple is soon to be built on the Temple Mount right beside the Al-Aqsa Muslim Mosque. Once this temple is complete animal sacrifices will be reinstated in this temple. Preparations are being made even as we speak at the Temple Institute.

This Temple construction while Israel is being pushed for a Palestinian state is going to be a big world issue for those hoping for peace in the middle east It is obviously not going to sit well with the Muslim world.

I suspect the conflicts between the Muslims and Jews will increase bringing us closer and closer to what the bible prophesised in Ezekiel 38.

So I ask you this Third Temple that is on it's way to construction what is it then? One of the zillion coincidences of the modern day that match endtime scripture that you avoid like the plague? I am delighted you have cable now but if we can just get you to watch TV or watch the media and keep your bible beside you. It's not a sin to do both brother.

The First Temple Period (960 B.C. to 586 B.C) Built by Solomon, in 586 B.C. the Temple was destroyed by Babylon for Judah’s Sin. (Ezekiel 8-9)

The Second Temple Period (516 B.C. to A.D. 70). The Temple was rebuilt by the Jews who returned after the Persians defeated Babylon, completed in 516 B.C., the Temple was destroyed by the armies of Rome in A.D. 70

The Third Temple (Tribulation Temple) (Future). The Temple will be built, after the Dome of the Rock is removed, following the war of Gog and Magog. Islam as threat to Israel’s existence will end. The future world leader to come (Daniel 9:27) the Antichrist, will make a seven-year agreement allowing Temple worship and sacrifice, this end with the Abomination of Desolation.

The Fourth Temple (The Millennium Temple) (Future). This is the Temple during the reign of King Messiah (Jesus Christ), the Glory of the Lord. (Ezekiel 40-43). This Temple follows the events of the Tribulation which end at Armagedd.

Really?

So, in your "superior" futurist view, (according to Ezekiel 40-43) people will be rendering blood animal sacrifices directly TO Jesus for Atonement of their sins in this "Millennial Temple?"

Sorry, I don't subscribe to your "backwards redemption" theory.

There is nothing superior about me at all. Just ministering to unbelievers and trying to be serving to Christ not self-serving.. wink ! Just a man nothing sepecial about me.

Are you arguing animal scrafices is the 3rd Temple?

Will you be relating your theory anytime soon? or will the guessing games and tests continue? Should I pull out my shinny papers star stickers and give you one?

Combining your eschatology and Dan 9:27, for the mythical third temple to be made desolate by the antichrist, it would, prior to that, have to be not desolate. However as a Christian I can only assume you believe Christ's was the ultimate sacrifice. Therefore any rebuilt temple would in itself be an abomination. It should not be possible for a Christian to believe that a rebuilt Jewish Temple could be un-desolate for 3.5 years.

How is the third temple mythical? May I invite you to look at http://www.templeinstitute.org/ and after you have actually reviewed that site may I ask you what you will make of this building once it has been built? What will you call it while the world and the Jewish people call it the third temple. A zillion Christians will be calling it the third temple ?? How many article from the Jerusalem Post would you like.

As a Christian I do believe Christ was the ultimate sacrifice, however due to the fact that animal sacrifices will be reinstated by the Jewish people in this temple. it is they in the temple who don't believe Christ was the ultimate sacrifice.

I also suspect when people see what is involved in these animal sacrifices we will see animal rights groups coming out of the wood work as well. Just one of the many reasons why the world will be turning against Israel.

The only response I am interested in hearing from you is what this building will be viewed by you once it is completed. If you deny the very existence of the construction of this temple then I won't be interested in going back and forth with you as your not facing your life in reality. I know the scriptures I have been writing about the temple for years.

I never said you did, I apoligize if that's how it sounded, but Islam is Anti-Christ based on the fact they deny Jesus is the Son of God. And they have their shrine on the Holy mountain where the temple was before.

It's pretty obvious, and makes sense.

The Fourth Temple (The Millennium Temple) (Future). This is the Temple during the reign of King Messiah (Jesus Christ), the Glory of the Lord. (Ezekiel 40-43). This Temple follows the events of the Tribulation which end at Armagedd.

Have you ever read Ezekiel 40-44?

Ezekiel 40:39
In the porch of the gate were two tables on each side, on which to slaughter the burnt offering, the sin offering and the guilt offering.

Ezekiel 42:13
the priests who are near to the LORD shall eat the most holy things. There they shall lay the most holy things, the grain offering, the sin offering and the guilt offering;

Ezekiel 43:20
'You shall take some of its blood and put it on its four horns and on the four corners of the ledge and on the border round about; thus you shall cleanse it and make atonement for it.

Ezekiel 43:21
'You shall also take the bull for the sin offering

Ezekiel 43:22
'On the second day you shall offer a male goat without blemish for a sin offering

Ezekiel 43:27
'When they have completed the days, it shall be that on the eighth day and onward, the priests shall offer your burnt offerings on the altar, and your peace offerings; AND I WILL ACCEPT YOU

Ezekiel 44:9
'Thus says the Lord GOD, "No foreigner uncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised in flesh of all the foreigners who are among the sons of Israel, shall enter My sanctuary.

Ezekiel 44:10
"But the Levites who went far from Me when Israel went astray, who went astray from Me after their idols, shall bear the punishment for their iniquity. Yet they shall be ministers in My sanctuary, having oversight at the gates of the house and ministering in the house; they shall slaughter the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people

Ezekiel 44:23
"Moreover, they shall teach My people the difference between the holy and the profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.

All these offerings are the propitiatory offerings of the Mosaic Law that Jesus came to fulfill forever. The teaching of a reinstitution of this blood sacrificial system is a rebuke against the blood of Jesus Christ, and a cause for anathema according to the apostles. A return to this system is a falling away from salvation, according to the apostles. A falling from the grace of Jesus Christ.

You'd better think twice about promoting this as a FUTURE event.

Who is it the that will enter into the temple then and declare himself God?
It WAS the Man of Sin Paul spoke of in 2 Thess, not antichrist of 1 & 2 John. You have no biblical instruction to call the Man of Sin "antichrist". You do so out of the traditions of man, not by scriptural authority. You will realize this one day, and hopefully repent.

Who is "he"

And "he" shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. Daniel 9:27

The HE is Messiah of course.

Notice the text places the 7 year time frame on the confirmation and not the covenant itself. The covenant is everlasting, the Confirmation of that everlasting covenant to the Jews lasted one "7".

Also, it is a confirmation of a covenant, not an establishemnt of one, and a covenant is different than a treaty.

"Confirm" means "strengthen." This says "Covenant." Not treaty.
Covenant.
What covenant?

Look at Daniel 9:3-4

Daniel 9:3 And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:

Daniel 9:4 And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;

Note that Daniel does not say to all Israel. He says to them that love him and that keep his commandments. So again, what covenant? It's a covenant that Jesus merely strengthened. It is the covenant that He gave to Abraham.

Genesis 22:18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

How would all nations be blessed through Abraham's seed? Through Jesus the Christ.

Jesus strengthened the covenant that God had already made. Those believers in the Old Testament believed that God would do as He promised and provide His salvation, though they knew not the name of Jesus. Those who have believed since Jesus believed that Jesus' death, burial and resurrection paid the price for their (our) sins. It has always been the same. God has not changed.

Jesus confirmed the covenant that God had made with Abraham. In thee shall all nations be blessed. (See also Matthew 26:28, Mark 14:24, and Luke 22:20)
