This Is Real Crazy

Wow. Some churches are big on that 10%. There's one near me that insists on 10%. Popular megachurch, too.

This seems....a bit much, lol. And she's 92?!?!

I agree.... this really is crazy!

As we settled into a new city, we visited numerous churches before finding one where we then attended. However, at one of the churches we visited, it turned out to be the 'New Commitment Day' at the church. It turned it that day was far from what we initially thought.

Instead, it was the day to fill out the new tithing form. Questions included both net and gross incomes from all sources (including yard sales, the value of a vehicular trade-in, ebay sales, etc), expected pay raise during the course of the next 12 months, and any gifts of money anticipated during the next 12 months. It was a fairly comprehensive list of monetary categories.

Okay, once the income info was filled out, the person had to boldly print what the 10% tithe would be. Then, the person had to state how much in addition would be donated to the church building/maintenance fund, the missionary fund, the out-reach fund, Sunday school fund.... well, it was a lengthy list. And the church members were obligated to contribute something to each of those funds.

Needless to say, that wasn't the church we decided to attend.

It's another reason that the time is being shortened. And we too may hasten the coming of the Lord. Turn your eyes upon your Savior. Your love eyes. Fix them on Him. Lift up our sister who is being defrauded by those who pretend to be clothed in light but inside they are clouds without water and greedily they prey upon the widow and the infirm! Call to HIM whom sees all and every hurt and tell Him that we know that He is not willing that any should perish but we too are needing Him in our hearts and our minds and our every breath and desire. Ask Him to come to you and then wake each morning with thoughts turned to Jesus, saying only, "I love you, my ISHI, my beloved, my betrothed! I do so love you."

Just wake each morning for the next 30 days and greet Him first.

Hasten the day!

She's not the first person to be kicked out of that church for not donating? So what is the church's response? Well, they are not commenting.

And knowing our Jesus, ask HIM for mercy for the one who may have stumbled one of His little ones. You don't need to be a literalist or a fundamentalist to know what He meant when he said, "Better to have a millstone tied to your neck and you tossed to the sea than to have stumbled one of these my little ones..."

So I'm probably not the only one whose heart goes out to the "bad guys" (so called) because I hope they are just confused and sinning because they are blinded and not doing such things in the full awareness. Undeserved favor for them too. Her niece is still in attendance at that assembly and asks for her to be kept in prayer, the town of Bainbridge in prayer, and this minister in prayer, for peace and order without crossing lines.

Join and hasten the day, do it like her niece asks, the right way.

I wonder what the pastor is thinking, now that he has all this negative attention. They are even getting on his case on face book, I hope a pastoral change comes out of this, but he should be booted out the door on his butt so fast sparks should be flying everywhere.

These are crazy times and such things are very powerful weapons of conformity.
Cyber bullying comes in many flavors.
Pastor needs our prayers too.

Once, while worshiping in a multi-million dollar corporate church, I heard that very charismatic pastor preach about tithe and he was saying how even those on food stamps needed to tithe their 10% of the full amount that God was giving them to him and his corporation, the church, and then and only then, would God break the generational curse.

And then and there I was thinking about taking off my sandal and wiping the dust but instead of that, I figuratively took my sandal off (I wasn't even wearing sandals at the time) and offered to Him and I could almost feel the sandal being taken from me to the heavenlies.

But then? Later and in another service and I was praying in the spirit and I felt my sandal being given back to me, in the spirit, so that I knew that it would be okay and Jesus would honor His word to us, in me, if I was to shake off the dust, so what did I do? I prayed.

And I asked Him what I should do. And to this? God let me know in the way He lets me know things (and that's not necessarily the same as He does with others) but for me? He let my know that I could wait and learn... and it would be okay for me to have my sandal.

So I prayed and recently (because that tithe preacher beggar greed dude pastor guy happened years ago) -- and recently I understand that Jesus, our betrothed, the Bridegroom is not willing that any should perish, so He is not delaying his return, like men do ... he's just not willing so I think we should not be willing either. Not willing.

This is disgusting! And to add insult to injury, just watch how some church hating "Christians" are going to latch onto this and use this one horrible exception to the rule in churches as their reason for forsaking fellowship and encouraging everyone else around them to forsake fellowship along with them!

I honestly don't know whether I should tithe or not, now. Or even attend church services.
Tithe because you love your church and want to see the bills get paid. Tithe because you love Jesus. But don't tithe because you feel like you are mandated, or if you feel like it is buying you special grace. That's my stance. But what do I know?

One thing I have found to be almost always true is that there is another side to the story. Without hearing both sides, I can't assume that this story is accurate. I've seen too many Progressives and journalists with an agenda doctor the facts or even outright lie to make a person or institution look bad.

Seriously? See this is what I'm talking about. You're going to let the unbiblical and selfish acts of one particular pastor of one particular church that you probably have nothing to do with and probably never even heard about before convince you to go against the scriptural instructions to not forsake fellowship? And you're going to also encourage others to do the same by telling them this?

Not all churches are like that brother, do not let this steer you away from Christ. Every now and then you are going to run into a Joe Knucklehead pastor.

Heaven rules, not man. So don't mistake the hand of man for the hand of God. And don't mistake the hand of God for the hand of man.

The doctrine of divine providence asserts that God is in complete control of all things. He is sovereign over the universe as a whole (Psalm 103:19).

Job said, "I know you can do all things!" Joseph said, "You meant it for evil, but God meant it for good."

Do you believe that God is absolutely sovereign in all of life?

Proverbs 20:24 Living Bible (TLB)
24 Since the Lord is directing our steps, why try to understand everything that happens along the way?

The problem is it's not just one particular pastor. There are a lot of stories like this. I have some money saved up right now for tithing that I don't know who to give to. Perhaps you'd like it? Seriously.

Maybe you'd enjoy gas pump or grocery store ministry. You wouldn't believe the things you'll see when you pay for someone's gas or their groceries and tell them how much the Lord Jesus loves them.
