Do you include covenantal vows to be in that; such as coming into the New Covenant (salvation) and marriage vows?Since His coming, all swearing of vows is of evil.

Given that which the Lord has said, I must. Anything else, is to degrade or throw words in abeyance of that which He has said.Do you include covenantal vows to be in that; such as coming into the New Covenant (salvation) and marriage vows?
I agree.I will also opine, that in today's culture, the word "vow" is often not understood at all, it is often mistaught to be a synonym for "promise".
The bible has nothing good to say, EVER, about breaking covenant. Remember Joshua and the Gibeonites, who swore out a covenant in direct violation of God's command. But that which Christ the Lord has said remains. There are vow-marriages, of misery and internal hatred, where vow-breaking is considered worse,
I would submit that making promises in a wedding ceremony IS making a vow before God, and without that, there can be no marriage.in churches where repentance of the particular evil of swearing of vows is never considered. There are also vow-covenanters, who behave in identical fashion regarding other things God has said, done, and asked of us.
If that is so, then christians cannot marry. But, the Lord has said, that all sworn vows, all attempts to make more than a "yes" or a "no", are of evil...
Were you aware, that the vast majority of the Orthodox church-groups' marriages, do not involve making promises in a wedding ceremony? Or sworn vows?I would submit that making promises in a wedding ceremony IS making a vow before God, and without that, there can be no marriage.
This is because so much, currently and much more historically, within churches and outside, is defined by sworn vows, which are all of evil.
We have it written that at least one person called Apostle did not repent in this, at least for a while.
To publicly say and promote those words of Christ the Lord would have gotten us executed possibly anywhere where church-folk and feudal-folk ruled, four hundred years ago.
One can even trace divisions within the Church of the Lord, to the content of many sworn vows, and in addition, to secret vows, personal allegiances and determinations which likewise are of evil.
But the benefits of living those words the Lord has said, are more tremendous then all struggles. Anyone have examples to share?
