Trampled - A calling or abuse

I believe in street evangelism, in sharing ones faith in a fixed forum where people can come and go. And yes we should be grieved about the lost, but the door is often not open, but the opportunity can be used when it appears.

Sowing the seed is important. I talk about people in our house group or at church and about what happened to show this is just normal appreciation of this of life and God.

I would say we sow the seed, God saves the soul.
Biases are part of life, we all have them. Each one has its justification, its benefit and its down side. What is often not appreciated is biases are not right or wrong but often linked to our personality. So I will analyse and try to define things while others will desire to express emotionally how the truth makes them feel. Some will be called to service in community action while others in building companies or families or supporting churches etc. We cannot do it all, so our bias often reflects our focus.

And hard preaching against sin, amen. But not like hell fire etc. but you reap what you sow. Sow to fluid relationships and ones relationships disappear.

Hi Peter,
I don't know your understanding of Faith and how you would comunícate that understanding on the street. But im truly blown away at the gift of speech you have. I hope you don't take that for granted , and know your being held accountable for that gift?

Gifts from God are pieces of His nature. God can speak things into existence, so He must be careful what He says.

Anyway, I hope you can glean a compliment out of this ungifted speaker.

Thank you. No I do not take this for granted.
Rather I share were I can with people who are willing to hear and be encouraged.
Forums are a good way of finding and discussing ideas and avenues and to help those unwrap the jewels Christ has given us in His word.

What people often forget is these words are eternal. And eternal does not mean from eternity, but they have eternal significance even when we are with Him.

We tend to think everything will be revealed, rather than what we have been told will come to pass. Relationships will always need humbleness, meekness, faith, forgiveness, grace, patience, self control etc. Listening to some you would think this is just a test to enter heaven, rather this is heaven brought to earth.

Totally agree! With a caveat, perspective is everything.

Sure, I could agree with your form of evangelization...every person needs a different method, as you said....

But, hey, I live in Italy
If I tried to preach on the street...I'd get hauled away to
Maggiano (a small town in the Lucchesia where the insane were placed --- it's closed down now; the crazy persons are roaming the streets and the sane persons are locked in their homes!)

No, really - NO ONE would listen.
I guess things are different by you?
More like NYC? Yeah.

Oh. And I agree with Watchman 2
I've told you that you have a unique way of saying things.

Few know how to listen today. So much information is available, evangelism now is more cafe sharing, meeting people where they are and offering friendship.

People are more open in some ways and closed in others. Churches are alien places, so one is more a cult rather than a sane caring individual.

Our church has done street offering to pray with people. But the impact is somewhat limited. Night shelter for the homeless, debt counseling, and food bank does though. Impact is more structural rather than just advertising.

Yes,,, take what you can get.
Salvation should be one of those things to get.
Good to have the rest too,,,but...

Funny,,, everybody knows everything these days...
information is at our fingertips.
And yet churches are empty and becoming more so...
And science is king.

Good night PJ.
Manana....

Science is king to a degree.
Understanding cause and effect does make a big difference.
This does not change the hand of the Lord and the role of love in our lives.

Science just tells you how things build and decay, not the why or how.
For the truth to set up free we need to understand our emotional roots and foundations and what destroys and undermines them.

Unfortunately church can be as much a science, do this and that happens without the heart being part of the equation.

Our churches are empty because church has often been a plaster on the unknown, rather than a significant path to life. Talking with some RCC supporters it is obvious to see how commitment to a structure can trump following Jesus and knowing truth. It is better to run and hide in religion rather than face repentance and the hope Jesus brings.

Science gives us the how physically but not the how spiritually or the context of origins and purpose. It is easy to get lost in the immediate and not see the context.

Everything stands in the shadow of eternity and the realities of relationships and what matters.

Love always asks, why do you need to do this, it serves no purpose?

This is not easy, and we are always caught out. How do I value myself, and what matters to me?
Everything in our realm and in Gods realm serves a purpose.
Value the spiritual man and work on pleasing God, nothing is guaranteed in this life we should work on persisting in believing and following Jesus Christ, and his message. The only thing guaranteed is eternal life but even then its hard to obtain naturally and requires a lot of work.
