Travelling to America!

AIR

Member
I was thinking of travelling to America when I turn 19. I've heard that it's not going to be easy because in U.S. you have to be 21 to book hotels and stuff. Could anyone give me any advice? I really want to go travel there by myself or with a friend, I'm not afraid of travelling alone, I need some challenge in my life.

Also, if you are planning on renting a vehicle you may run into some issues, as many rental places usually don't rent to anyone under the age of 25. I think buses, or other public transport will be your best, if not cheap, option.

make sure you have a visa of course.(passport). I would suggest traveling with a friend and also having some reserves in case of emergency. I wouldn't want to be stuck that far from home.

It's great that I don't need a visa if I stay under 90 days, few countries are in this program.

If you know the cities you will be visiting if you have an itinerary you could look up Hotels or Motels in those areas and see what their polices are for age requirments and same with car rentals. They all have phone numbers.

Hey Air, I hope you enjoy your stay in the U.S. Where are planning to travel? What cities? There is a lot of good and a lot of bad in this country. I hope you see and experience the good. I wish I could help you with your travel arrangements but I can't.... Perhaps your parents can help you if there is a problem with hotels and car rentals.

Perhaps if you tell us what cities and regions you plan to travel in, there may be people on this board willing to help.

I think you'll also find the reservation requirements will vary based on the what the state considers the age of consent for legal documentation.

Enjoy your time here ... see all you can ... 'cause there's quite a lot to these states!! :)
