Careful Wrigley, going near her is like opening Pandora's Box.I like
I thought you were going to protect me?What's with all the abbreviations?
I have no idea what you are trying to say.
Is it a private conversation?
Could you spell it out for us less educated folk?
You know, people like you are troublemakers.
That's all, just plain troublemakers.
I'm gonna keep my eye on you.
I think what I'm trying to get at is that if we can't accept who we are and where we are at then we can't grow as a child of the father.I've been here almost a year Wrg, and this is the most difficult question I've read and one I've never considered.
In a way it's true because if you can know yourself - your good points and your bad points - it makes it easier to go through life, generally speaking. IOW, if you know your bad points you can work on them. You can ask God for help with them, when you fall into your "problem" you'll recognize it and be able to deal with it. If you don't know yourself, you just keep making the same mistake over and over and it's difficult for God to work in you since you do not recognize His spirit in you.
OTOH, I agree with Not_Now.Soon. Once we get to know God, He automatically makes us better.
He makes us aware of our bad habits, He takes them away sometimes immediately and sometimes it takes months or years- sometimes they never leave us but at least we're aware of them and can control them to some degree, on our way to sanctification.
Yes. You've given me much food for thought.
Wondering

Who am I to God?Okay, I'll answer since this will not go away. It's true but in a conditional way. Nobody will answer the Christ until they answer the question of, "Who am I to God?"
You're my no. 1 favorite!Hay hang on a second. Am I second choice here?
Watch him Fran, he's a snake with legs.I'm here for you, just whistle, click your fingers. I'm a true gentleman
I believe your first two paragraphs are what I was trying to say. I find it difficult to speak of spiritual matters sometimes because very often we use different words, or terms, but mean the same thing.I think what I'm trying to get at is that if we can't accept who we are and where we are at then we can't grow as a child of the father.
So "I'm a sinner saved by grace and not of works, I'm loved as I am by God unconditionally and in fact I'm loved despite my failings" if we don't get that then the walk is hard.
Not_Now.Soon to me hit the nail on the head. Sanctification. We forget that. We think we need to sanctify ourselves to be a child, when in fact we are a child. The focus can be wrong for some. For some it's I must sanctify myself because I'm wretched and sin and if I do so I'm not a child and God may strike my name from the book of life.
Hmmm. Are you jealous?Watch him Fran, he's a snake with legs.
Go ahead, dangle all these men with your baby finger, it doesn't matter. You're my no. 1 favorite!
Kind, quick witted, intelligent, funny.
And we're in the same time zone too! (I think).
Unfortuantely, we're both married!!
