TV Shows You Watch, but don't Necessarily Talk About.

one mind can be dirty. when paul wrote phillipians 4:8 there wasn't tv, there was the earliest version of play where we get the words, Cineplex, cinema and Cineplex odean from and theatre.

I have not owned a TV since 2008 or early 2009. WHen in Hotel rooms (and I'm in them a LOT) I have tried to turn on the Weather CHannel - but even that channel is ruined by 'reality tv'.
I once thought I could NEVER survive without TV, today, I can't imagine sitting in front of a TV. I admit that youtube is a favorite of mine, I can find a lot to watch in the way of very old documentaries and some TV shows like TBBT and old Cosby stuff but that's it. I tried one of the internet-streaming services last year, (HULU) but cancelled it in two months - there was no point.

I have a lot of James Burkes' shows on DVD and can see a lot of them on youtube - stuff like that is fun to watch because I'm learning something.

I remember when Animal Planet and History channel were actually about animals and history, and not reality TV crap.
I miss the old court tv where they went into forensics and the science of murders and the ways they were caught.now tru tv give far too much about the act of the crime with porn like imagery. if I wanted porn. I would just to go to that. sheesh.

The only actual TV I watch these days is Toonami, and if a channel has a show I like. I don't have the channel on my cable plan, but when I was staying at my grandmother's house last year after my uncle passed (he had been caring for her), I liked to stay up and watch Nick's The 90's Were All That. Which had some of the best cartoons from my childhood. Only thing worth watching on Nick these days.

I also liked catching Phineas and Ferb on Disney Channel. (Which I also don't have on my cable plan.) It's a very good modern cartoon. Hm...also, I like Ben 10: Omniverse, which airs on Cartoon Network. I can't watch that show without geting "best cartoon ever!" vibes, heh. I like it even better than I did the original Ben 10 series. Even so, can't say I'm involved in the fandom.

There are a few shows worth watching here and there. Some that seem to be popular with people my age (young adult) include Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, Regular Show. (I plan on checking these out eventually, but my entertainment is mainly anime these days.)
But overall, TV is crap and almost not worth having anymore. Besides, cable is so outdated with Netflix, Hulu, and the like.

Mostly watched Nick and Cartoon Network as a kid. It's weird to see how cartoons change from decade to decade. Those channels are SO different now.

Cartoon Network in the 90's reaired several old 80's shows, I think. I know Alvin and the Chipmunks aired, remember watching it.

Me either.I used to love television.I was watching it one night and I got this feeling. It was an uncomfortable feeling and made me feel on-edge.Even a lot of the commercials were inappropriate. My son said he felt the same way.We decided to make a sacrifice for Christ not to watch that stuff because we had a feeling that God really did not want us to.Last year I was at work and there was a television on in the lunchroom.OH BOY I thought that television had taken a turn for the worst.People were sitting around watching some of this garbage and I said "This stuff is bad".They said "What is bad?".So they were very, very desensitized to it and I was actually sad for them.

that goes back to the late 60's the Christmas special is from the late 60's the show didn't start until the early 80s and ran almost as long as the smurfs(82-92).

Yes, that is the worst part. Most see nothing at all wrong with today's TV. Half of my church just loves that zombie series.

I also remember seeing the Smurfs, Jetsons, hm...I'm sure there were others...I think I forget most of them. I remember watching this special from like the early 90's that had a bunch of that era's cartoons (it was something about the dangers of drugs), and I recognized most of the cartoons. I just completely forgot about the majority of them.

Funny how the majority of stuff I watch is still cartoon, even if much of it isn't rated for kids.

When the Twilight movie was out that is all my co-workers could talk about. They had books that they had picked up when they went to the movie and everyone was passed all the gory pictures around of this guy biting this womans neck.It was gross.I thought OH BOY you guys are lost. And that was a couple of years ago.

Twilight? I haven't read the books, but I'm told the writing is SO stupid, cheesy, and unrealistic. I remember when people started jumping on the bandwagon, though.

Saw the first movie in the twilight series and had no desire to watch any of the rest. My wife did watch all of them as well as read the books.

Beyond the Bible, I really wouldn't be able to select just one book as an all-time favorite. There are far too many I've read more than once because I've enjoyed the plot, character development. One book that does rank high on the list is "James Stewart, Earl of Moray - A Political Study of the Reformation of Scotland" by Maurice Lee, Jr.

Agatha Christie, James Rollins, Michael Crichton, Arthur Conan Doyle, Ian Fleming - all excellent writers whose books I've enjoyed over the years. Phyllis Whitney, Greg Iles, Winston Churchill, Rosamunde Pilcher, Daphne du Maurier, again, really good authors.

What is your favorite books of all time, Kathi ? Why?
