That's true Sheilagh - most of the Christian fiction I've seen is corny romantic stuff, often set during the pioneer times, about sappy women looking for true love.
One good book is 'Paul' by I think Walter/Warren Wangerin - very well written, about Paul's conversion and the early Church.
