[_ Old Earth _] Were Dinosaurs a deception from Satan to make the world look older ?

normally we dont show why we do that or whom but in the case since barb claims christ we need to know the tactics of the enemy. and also that some athiest are honest and upfront while others arent so honest.

probably, but given what i have seen here and on the net. i would be suprised if some christian thought that.
 
ok well satan and man doing evil in unison, either the devil sets man up to do evil or the man does it first and the devil seems to ensure others join in.
 
True. And since we are quite able to DO "bad" all by ourselves, there is no reason to add an unnecessary and unprovable input into the mix.

Funny I used to say the same thing. by your avatar I see non Christian. So yes I see why your answer is as such. Sure Satan is unprovable. But in the same note you can not disprove him either..So guess its depends on what side of the fence your on..
 
What is definite IS people's actions. Dinosaur bones as well. I choose to only consider that which has testable. I also must disregard the statement "____ can't be disproven . . . ". There are MANY things that can't be disproven, . . . and most of those you would agree that they are not real, though many believe them to be.

The crux of the matter, considering this thread, . . . because of what we know, many YEC christians have had to come up with silly notions, such as the OP. Creating a "deception" because evidence points to something else than they have always believed, . . . .hence questions about certain things being "created by this evil entity to make the earth look older than it is". The most simple and easy answer is, . . . . . "The earth is just...OLD."
 
Let's remember that this is a Christian site, and there is really no need to constantly bring up your disbelief in the Bible if it is not relevant to the discussion.

Christians discussing on a Christian site will always state the truth of the Bible, no need to be nit picky.

I to believe in what is testable, but I also have faith. The latter came harder and at times still struggle. Yes there are many things that can’t be disproven. But then again youcan say the earth is billions of years old. Which I used to. I guess its what glasses you have on to see what you want to see. As a yec I see thing alot different now than in the past. It’s not that I just woke up one day and said everything I thought was true is now untrue.

The earth being old is of course you wanting to see it that way. Many Many things can not be explained by old earther’s. As far as silly notions, I think that can be said about each group. I don’t believe the devil created dino’s to trick man. But that man has tricked himself into explaining away God.
 
Deavonreye I have a question for you? Not trying to be a wise guy, but where you there to wittiness the beginning of all things. Something being created by nothing. Or, where did all matter come from. did it just pop into existence. If you weren't there then how can you be 100% that God was not there to create it all. how?

I don't think OP meant that Satan literally created dinosaurs or anything; rather, I think he meant to discuss the possibility that the evidence that we have for dinosaurs (or people's belief in them) was "planted" by Satan. So I guess he's kinda suggesting that dinosaurs never existed (or at least not as long ago as is generally believed) and that the popular belief that they did exist x million years ago is actually a result of Satan's influence.

It could be true... but I see no reason to believe that it is.

Nope. Satan can only work with what already exists. He has no power to create anything at all. He is only able to work in the world through people. Which means he can only create the things that man can himself create. So unless man has the technology to make dinosaur bones than Satan cannot make them.

We can still come to believe false things by Satan's influence: this is the crux of my point. Even if Satan cannot create physical things, this does not preclude the wide acceptance of dinosaurs and stuff in society as being a belief instilled by Satan... which, like I said, is plausible, given that these ideas can cause some people to turn from God. Again, though, I see no reason to believe that this is the case.

My post [posted this morning] may have been removed, . . . so I must have said something against the TOS. For what it's worth, . . . . . . well, I guess I have nothing to say here.
 
Whether the weather is hot...whether the weather is cold...people always have something to add. I believe dinosaurs existed. I just miss those pets:bigfrown

True I do believe Satan has used man to misinterpret the facts. I have
no problem with dinos. My problem is saying they lived millions of years ago. As I have said I'm a YEC. Same thing can be said about the stars we see in the heavens. Science says they are 15 billion light years "old" away give or take. God said he created the heavens to proclaim his glory. If we where not able to see them because of lack of time it takes for light to get here then there would be no glory. God created the heaven fully ddeveloped"ready to be seen by man".
